CATUNE 045EP

"Featuring acid-flashback-esque sequencing and rippling synth sounds, the spacey electro-funk slowly expands into a fusion-disco sound. Sure to be a summer anthem in 2012."

"Sam Grawe aka Hatchback & Daniel Judd aka Sorcerer, put together Coastlines in 2008, and after 4 years they're back with a new album Weird Energy. This album crosses over their different backgrounds and stimulates a vivid visual image, from the sophisticated sound design, luscious melodies, and live instruments well arranged resonating and shedding bright light. Including 6 tracks, featuring the long waited Weird Energy - a definite summer anthem which spread out with their self made video on Youtube back in 2009. Packaging the west coast beach culture and psychedelic culture's open air atmosphere together, Windsurf will appeal in the bright sunny season coming soon."

INT 007EP
|
The idea behind the Internasjonal label is to put out good music without limiting themselves to a specific genre. Their aim is to highlight new talent, re-release some lesser-known nuggets and give you some dancefloor killers along the way, from Japanese techno to California Kraut. After their well-received debut album on Internasjonal, Windsurf presents two tracks off their album Bird Of Paradise, one Studio rework, and one dub version by The Beat Broker.

This is the debut album by San Francisco producer duo, Windsurf -- Sorcerer's Daniel Judd and Hatchback's Sam Grawe. With a plethora of critically-acclaimed releases already under their own respective belts including their own solo debut albums for Tirk (Sorcerer) and Lo Recordings (Hatchback), Coastlines could well be hailed as a modern day "cosmic disco/slo-mo house" classic. "I'm unfortunately not very good at describing their music: Tangerine Dream's Edgar Froese meets Steely Dan?" says Internasjonal/Full Pupp label boss and Lindstrøm collaborator, Prins Thomas. In fact, Thomas was already doing remixes for both Daniel and Sam's solo projects before he even realized they were Windsurf. He put out their previously-digital Windsurf EP and more tracks and ideas led to this full release: "Their record was originally intended as the perfect pre-summer release, but I've got to say it suits the cool breeze of autumn just as perfectly. This album has been constantly on my ipod for a few months now and even though I might be biased, I know I'll be playing this the whole year (and next summer, too)." The album will be followed by the second 12" release Bird Of Paradise, backed by remixes from Studio and fellow Californian, The Beatbroker while Sam and Daniel have also managed to complete some seriously stunning and epic remixes for Shawn Lee, Low Motion Disco, Black Mustang and LCD Soundsystem. This is just the beginning of warm, laidback, slanted, fully-danceable synth jams.
