2LP version. Parisian minimal/experimental house producer Guillaume Berroyer aka ARK started his musical career back in the '90s. Since then, he released his work on labels like Brif, Playhouse, Karat, and Circus Company. Arkpocalypse Now is his second full-length album for Perlon -- a musical bastard somewhere between house, funk and that special ARK element that is hard to describe. Sorta sample-ish, heavy on the bass at times, with eclectic breaks and rumbles.

"Ark makes us happy again with his punkfunk. On album length he mixes weird stutterhouse patterns with hip hop grooves and funky vocals. For the latter he has invited two guests: On 'Sucubz' Xavier Vindard sounds even dirtier than James Brown. Then Jamie Lidell smoothly enlarges the chessboard to the previously unknown format 'r2d2'. This album should be listened to with your sneakers on because you wont stop moving your feet till your neighbour rings the bell."

"The CD compilation which is not an album. 8 tracks + interludes + remixes from Akufen (Force Inc.), Dimbiman (Perlon), Isolee (Playhouse) And Noze (Circus Company). Ark, half angel, half devil... An artist who has never made any concessions and who will always stay authentic through out his work. After having released some EP's on quality labels such as Brif records, Karat, Perlon and Circus Company, Ark comes back to longer formats with alleluyark. It's the opening for Circus Company's solo series (CCS). This project gathers 3 EPs on which you will find all his influences, humor and diversity that make him one of the most interesting French electronic music artists. That's probably why he's been collaborating with such talented artists. From Pépé Bradock to Mr Oizo and Cabanne? All of them would agree on that point: Ark's got a unique sensibility in music."

"The first track is one of the most dancefloor of the alleluyark project. 'Miss Tic' is a straight minimal funky track, its only aim is grooving. The rmx by Nôze keeps the minimal and dancefloor aspect at the beginning but ends with a no joking solo between freejazz and funk. 'The Lost And Losoul rmx' is a real electro but not retro remix. On this track you can hear the mythical snare from Losoul most famous tracks with some eruption from Ark's world. As we have here a definitely dancefloor EP, Ark decided to put an unreleased track. 'Car Hibou' is more looking like other Ark's track dance-y and crazy with many incredible events."

"Ark is opening the ball of the Circus Company's solo series with a brand new fresh EP: Alleluyark vol.1. The volume 1 is representative of his versatile and authentic work: a melting pot of various influences. He leads us to his fonky craziness with 'satanark' on which we can feel a snake charmer vibe. In 'Sweet Chat Rio' he goes straight into the darkness with percussive grooves. Both sides are ended by 133,3 bpm loops. Flip over for Akufen's remix of 'e-cône' : Brilliant! Hope you'll all enjoy theses new tracks from the number one godfather of French minimal house."
