Well-known for its highly idiosyncratic blend of hard-hitting prime time movers, Glasgow-based production duo Naum Gabo returns to the international dancefloors with Embargo Barco, a dripping slice of raw club activism sure to split many a forehead. With impelling vocals by electronic flaneur Capablanca and a surprising funk remix by mutant disco revivalist Daniel Maloso, this makes for a slick package more than ready for mayhem.

Correspondant label-head Jennifer Cardini presents the very first Correspondant label compilation. "Jimmy After is a newcomer on Correspondant and delivers with 'The Dedicated' -- the perfect atmospheric and deeply melodic opening track. After their slick, urban remix of Enola, we can name Darabi 'the Pope of 99 bpm.' Their contribution to the compilation, 'Pistolero,' carries their distinctive signature: obsessive minimal slowness. Daniel Avery present 'Tunnel,' a cinematographic road trip. Cora Novoa's track 'The Sphinx' is beautiful and elegant. Pulp Disco & The Outcast present their version of psychedelic disco with "Over Midnight." Clement Meyer of 'Get the Curse' is all about carving his way into insanity. His track 'High Tek Snuff' follows the direction he took on his first EP. Javi Redondo's 'The Cave of Gold' triggers the Joy Division fan inside me. Michel Amato aka The Hacker bridges John Carpenter with Dopplereffekt to a resounding effect with his track 'Enter.' Philip Gorbachev teams up with Cologne's rising star Barnt for dangerous stuff. The second collaboration is with Daniel Maloso and 'Like a Vampire' will make you want to stay up all night. Rework evokes some wonderful energy and Nhar delivers a very special version of 'Thelema.' As the closing track for the compilation I picked one of my own tracks."

Correspondant welcomes Italian artist Crono. "Palazzo D'Inverno" references the official residence of the tzar that was built by the Italian architect Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli. The track is an enigmatic, arpeggiated trip into the utopian landscapes of long-forgotten sounds and images. Fairmont twists the original track into a futuristic and psychedelic journey by adding spacey keyboards and an obsessive bass line. "Doppio Sogno" is a pure bass-driven track that explores the deepness of the unconscious. Clement Meyer strips it down: slow, dirty and vicious.

Marius Bubat and Georg Conrad aka Coma combine pop and house, techno and indie rock with an eclectic approach, creating highly-recognizable music with an emotional impact. Inspired by travels through Vietnam, "Hanoi" is a deeply romantic track paying homage to the feelings of friends sharing expressions and experiences. On the B-side, French DJ, producer and Marketing Music Records head honcho Tim Paris turns up the heat on "Hanoi" with twisted synths and darkened vocals in a massive remix.

Mark and Stefan have been making noises for a long, long time and have graduated from the Psychonautic Academy of Vibrational Arts with 2 LFOs, a couple of VCFs and 3 VCOs. When they're not working in the studio on their new psychedelic project Pulp Disco & The Outcasts, Marc & Stefan get up to all sorts of bad behavior in Ibiza, France and their home in London and Manchester. The wrong side of the horizon is where they were born -- and dark dub-discos are now their only refuge.

French producer Offset finds his calling for electronic music with this straight dancefloor burner. "Subversive" is proof that slow can be dark, groovy, powerful, and sexy all at the same time. "Addicted" has a taste of trance -- but not too much.

Enola is the project of French DJ Matthieu Monnin, previously one-half of Noirdegout. Matthieu finds his niche in melodious techno, taking inspiration from the sounds of the '90s. He has done work with the likes of Rodriguez Jr., Anoraak, and Arno Gonzalez, and now he joins Correspondant with "Slow Motion." On the flip, Nhar turns the darkness into light with his best remix to date.

Clement Meyer is all about decadence, armed with a distinct vision for the dancefloor that goes against the grain of tired dance music trends. The DJ, producer and Get The Curse Music boss has shaped a dark and timeless sound which has certainly not gone unnoticed by top industry players, the press and last but not least, clubbers around the globe. He now joins Correspondant, with a nod to his Parisian roots. Techno remix by Abe Duque.

Kevin Schershel's early productions include collaborations with Daft Punk and a stint in 22 Crew. Not only was Kevin a resident of the "Storm" parties at Rex Club, he still remains one of the most active promoters in the south of France. For the remix of "Sick" is Kevin Cormac. Originally from Ireland, Cormac has emerged as one of the UK's hottest new DJ/producer talents, employing moody vocals, killer hooks and a keen sense of how to build a groove.
