Tymoteus Cypla & Sebastian Pellowski aka The Same are probably the last producers daring to qualify their own music as trance. But for The Same, the word means a journey in a limitless space and time-frame. A dark and cinematic atmosphere characterizes their music. They build up their musical outputs with ready-to-rumble bass lines, vicious synth-waves and explosive hi-hats. The Fungeez EP features four tracks that are equally sick and euphoric.

Standout track taken from Don Nino's album In the Backyard of Your Mind, "Beats" is a freaky and well-balanced piece of folk music. Its lyrics are about body transportation and spiritual dematerialization. But in the hands of Chloe, Turzi and Cubenx, the beat boxes substitute the drums, the vocals get distorted, and the track deconstructs itself as the walls fall between the genres.

A standout track taken from Rone's second album, Tohu Bohu (IF 1020CD/LP), plus remixes from Dominik Eulberg and Blind Digital Citizen. The original is based on an enthralling melody twirling around a stunning four-to-the-flour. Eulberg turns "Parade" into the melodic techno gem of 2012.

Double LP version on 180 gram vinyl; includes an A2 poster and mp3 download card. Rone is one of the most acclaimed young French musicians on the electronic scene. His videos have spread all over the World Wide Web with the speed of light and his powerful live set has been appreciated from the Sònar Festival to Panorama Bar. Three years have passed since the release of his debut album Spanish Breakfast. In the meantime, he relocated to Berlin, and fully adopted the peacefulness and laid-back attitude of the city. Not so surprisingly, a feverish calm emerges from the 10 tracks of the album, which elegantly and consistently navigate between dream-like electronica, hypnotic ambient and melodic techno. Peering through here and there are also rhythmic elements borrowed from hip-hop, and organic parts from classical, with High Priest of Antipop Consortium and Gaspar Claus making two remarkable appearances on the record. The album will be massively promoted with several videos, directed by a promising new generation of directors (Vladimir Mavounia-Kouka, Studio Fünf, Filip Piskorzynski, Dimitri Stankowicz). No doubt, it will be one of the standout electronic albums of 2012.

This is the latest broadcast from the subsonic soul cave of Downliners Sekt. The duo continue to impress with their hefty sonic surgery, taken this time toward two exclusive new tracks, built while working on a new album for InFiné Music. The A-side takes a muted hardcore rhythm on a rumbling ride of heavy drone bursts, neon synthesis and bittersweet post-ecstasy euphoria. The flip is a jilted garage shuffle that eats itself while still driving forward, punctuated by dusty soul and gospel samples.

Tides of Mind (IF 1018CD/LP), the second album by Oxia, turned 2012's cloudy springs into a shining early summer. "Housewife," featuring Miss Kittin, is a standout track taken from the album, and this EP includes two new versions signed by the originators of the track. Miss Kittin turned the track into an electro vintage delight while Oxia boosts the original element to lengthen dancefloor pleasure. On the flip-side, Society Of Silence brings darkness and minimal sweat to make of it a perfect pick for afterhours.

Dark, powerful, hypnotizing, magnificent, and raw, Spitzer's debut tests the boundaries in its own way, just like InFiné. The Call perfectly captures the spirit of our movement-revering age, and turns the alt-rock energy into club monsters. The album includes the American vocal wonder, Kid A (Agoria) and Fabrice Gilbert of Parisian electro-punk band Frustration (Born Bad Records). Their previous EPs have been supported by A-list DJs such as James Lavelle, Dave Clark, Ewan Pearson, Joris Voorn and Trevor Jackson and electronic experts like Resident Advisor, Data Transmission and De Bug. With this first-class first chapter, the Spitzer revolution does appear to be under way. This "call" -- at once outraged and restrained -- will resonate on many levels with its audience.

Mysterious duo Outer Fall is comprised of a rock singer and an electronic producer, inspired by surrealism, early '90s DIY, sci-fi comics and resisting conformity. Hating polished sound, they don't smooth things over, although this single includes both a club and radio edit. Don't ask.

2LP version on 180 gram vinyl. Almost eight years after the release of 24 Heures (on Goodlife), Oxia, pioneer of the French techno scene, is back in 2012 with a surprising new LP entitled Tides Of Mind. Deep, melodic, soulful and irresistibly groovy. For Tides Of Mind, Oxia put aside the trendy electronic patterns and moved back to his earliest influences. With this said, the album is not shy of a deep and melodic sound that ventures to the dancefloor with a stamp of the Oxia groove.
