My Favorite Robot proudly presents the label's debut artist album. One of the true electronic masters of his generation, Jori Hulkkonen comes with an almost untouchable reputation amongst his peers and fans since releasing his debut album for Laurent Garnier's legendary F.Communications back in 1996 (the first of 6 artist albums for the label). A connoisseur's choice, Hulkkonen's albums (this, his 13th) have always had their own individual personalities, and Negative Time is no different as Jori introduces a new direction and concept, under his latest moniker of Third Culture. As the artist himself describes: "A few years back I read a piece about Third Culture. The basic idea was to take hard science, like physics and mathematics and put them with literary humanist faculties, although instead of opposing them, the idea was to try and find the similarities and common ground between them. I instantly recognized that juxtaposition; it's the exact same element I strive to find when I play live shows with all of my vintage hardware. Improvising and creating something unique -- a human touch, but using electronical machinery -- it was something I just had to explore further." Describing his approach in the same way a scientist might focus on a new test, or an architect a new build, it's immediately clear that Jori's creativity for soundscapes is above and beyond that of many of his peers. And, it's rewarded with riches across Negative Time as he delivers a true master class of deep electronica, ranging from ambient waves to leftfield pop to jacking house, Negative Time sees flashes of all Jori's influences and packages it into one of the finest electronic listening experiences you're likely to hear all year. Featuring vocals from Harri Falck, Olga Kouklaki and Jori himself (aka JiiHoo), this latest LP is arguably his most concise work to date, seamlessly fitting in with the cultured sounds of modern dance music, while possessing a timeless quality that should keep this album shining, and fans dancing, forever more.

My Favorite Robot Records teams up with Circoloco resident Andrew Grant and production partner Lomez for a superb new EP backed with a remix from Amirali. "Has to Be Love," journeys into '80s-tinged electro territory with its Human League-esque drums and soaring synths, playing host to the heavily-effected vocals. Amirali delivers a wonderful reinterpretation of "Has to Be Love." The drums are stripped back, the parts twisted up and re-imagined as a sonic soundscape existing in the outer reaches of our known electronic universe.

For anyone that's sought out the deeper, more textured, more interesting side of electronic music over the past 20 years, Jori Hulkkonen should be a very familiar name. "Options" sees Jori explore a new concept under the guise of Third Culture and is the first single to be taken from his forthcoming album release Negative Time. The track organically flows across a tougher, more mechanical structure, and is also remixed here by Arto Mwambe and Tomas Barfod.

Celebrated London-based producer Tom Demac teams up with hotly-tipped Manchester band Silverclub. The EP sets sail with "Holiday's Over," a richly-produced slice of vocal electronica that fuses live elements with programmed parts. "Throat Trip" features Demac laying down a bass-driven rhythm section while Jones provides an otherworldly vocal. The package is completed with two remixes: Flowers & Sea Creatures rework "Holiday's Over" into a deep and dubby version while Tiger Stripes remodels "Throat Trip" into a wonderfully hypnotic house cut.

This single from Lightbluemover features a collaboration with regular partner Black Light Smoke and a remix from My Favorite Robot, James Teej and Nitin. Lightbluemover is the moniker adopted by DJ/producer Francis Harris, best known for his work as Adultnapper. The EP kicks off with the original version of "Children Of A Lesser Dog," which sees Harris & Lieb turn in a superb slice of mutant slo-mo house with a quirky, off-beat feel. Harris goes solo for "Bitter Bee," a bumpin', electro-tinged cut.

Producer, vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Dead Seal aka Derrick Boyd's Goldemine single opens with the original version, a melodic slice of deep electronic-come-house that showcases his heartfelt vocal delivery. Droog & Inxec develop the track into a hypnotic tech workout that retains the feel of the original while adding a retro-inspired electronic feel. Sid Le Rock's remix journeys into the realms of spacey house that is part floor-filler and part ambient masterwork. Also includes a remix by Adultnapper.
