Gnod's Chaudelande Vol. 1 & 2 (2011& 2012) vinyl-only albums on Tamed Records have become a thing of infamy as two of the greatest slabs of beat-driven, shamanistic space-noise to have been released over the past few years and Rocket Recordings is proud to bring these two mammoth LPs together for the first time on CD. The collective that is Gnod has risen out of the DIY ethic of Manchester's Islington Mill. Central to the ethic is an alternative approach to musical creativity and freedom of expression with no regard to established opinions. Gnod is a state of mind. Those who seek Gnod, will find Gnod -- the universe is centered on neither the earth nor the sun, it is centered on Gnod. Recorded in Studio Chaudelande, France, Chaudelande takes Gnod's convulsive vision, straps on electrodes, charges the amps, then overstimulates the vital organs as a torrent of contorted sounds akin to the likes of PiL, Hawkwind, and Butthole Surfers ignite like an arc-flash, repetitive blaze. The epic pilgrimage that is Chaudelande will take the listener on a ride through the narrow chinks of the cavernous mind in the frenzied spirit of This Heat, Sunburned Hand Of The Man and the repetitive beats of Krautrock via Wax Trax. So come join the cult that is Gnod's Chaudelande, as once again the band deliver another jolt to the unsound mind.

This is the debut album by The Heads' lead guitarist and songwriter, Paul Allen. Anthroprophh's music originates in the evolutionary field work of both his endless 33.333 rituals and near-mythical status as one of the UK's greatest underground acts; The Heads. The Heads have been carving their own brand of kinetic psychoacoustics since the early '90s and Anthroprophh continues that Bristolian tradition with his latest spectrum of sonic assaults. The six tracks unearthed follow the Krautrock tradition of at times being anarchic, at others mystical, magical, or utopian. Heavy on planetary rhythms and laced, percussive, half-man, half-machine grooves, Anthroprophh is concerned with all aspects of musical behavior; past, present, and with an eye to the future like the sonic output you would find on labels such as Blackest Rainbow and Not Not Fun. His interest in the oscillating neuronal discharges of instruments induce the long distance pattern of synchronization, corresponding to the moment of perception itself and to the ensuing motorik response. So "Join Inn" Anthroprophh's ancestral hunter and gatherer sanctuary with his satellitic-dependence astralwerks -- human, humanoid, or human-like, this is the sound of the mind burning out.

2013 repress. Rocket Recordings presents the debut album World Music by the band Goat. For those who are unaware, Goat is a collective of musicians who hail from a small and very remote village called Korpilombolo in deepest, darkest Sweden. Legend has it that for centuries, the inhabitants of the village of Korpilombolo were dedicated to the worship and practices of Voodoo. This strange and seemingly unlikely activity was apparently introduced into the area after a travelling witch doctor and a handful of her disciples were led to Korpilombolo by following a cipher hidden within their most sacred of ancient scriptures. The reason it led them there is unknown, but their Voodoo influence quickly took hold over the whole village and so they made it their home -- there, they were able to practice their craft unnoticed and unbothered for several centuries. This was until their non-Christian ways were discovered by the Church and they were burned out by the crusaders, the survivors cursing the village over their shoulders as they fled. To this day, the now picturesque village of Korpilombolo is still haunted by this Voodoo curse; the power of the curse can be felt throughout the grooves of this Goat record. The nine track album follows the underground success of the now sought-after 7" Goatman, which is also included in this selection. The band takes in many influences, from the Afro-groove that is central to the album, through to head-nodding psych, post-punk, Turkish rock, Kraut repetition and astral folk.

2013 repress! LP version with die-cut front cover. "Over insistent rhythms that suggest Spacemen 3 and, at least in spirit, the conjuring drones of Pandit Pran Nath and La Monte Young, Goat weave an ecumenical history of rock'n'roll. They intercept signals from Led Zeppelin and Funkadelic, Jefferson Starship and Fela Kuti, the Congos and the Rolling Stones, bending them into a resiliently consistent album." --Pitchfork (8.1)

2013 repress. Overdue reissue of Heads On Fire, the out-of-print second album by New York's White Hills. Since this release, their first for Rocket, the band have gone to release several very highly regarded albums for Thrill Jockey. Ever changing and always striving to push the envelope, White Hills' album Heads On Fire finds the band playing a heavier style of space-rock. Relentless and punishing, the album kicks off with the spacey swirl of the song "Radiate" and ends with the speed-laden blast of the track "Eternity." Along the way, a mesmerizing blend of growling fuzz/wah guitar, pounding bass, sprawling synth, and chaotic drumming doses one's head three sheets to the wind. Whether it be the mere one-minute track "Return Of Speed Toilet" or the 26+ minute "Don't Be Afraid," the listener will be taken on a ride through a world that is all-encompassing from beginning to end. The band started in New York as a solo project by Dave W. Since then it has turned into a trio, with Ego Sensation (bass) plus various drummers which has included Kid Millions of Oneida fame. Like Oneida, White Hills also share a love for a hard rock stripped of its bombast -- their heavier, dirtier, earthier influences contend with airier atmospheres while combining steadiness with spacious, soaring guitars. These heads are always on fire.

2013 repress. Teeth Of The Sea return with Your Mercury, their colossal second LP. Balanced elegantly between electronic exploration and incendiary psychedelic freakout, these 46 minutes showcase a band whose expansive mindset has birthed a unique sound, more dynamic, adventurous and vividly atmospheric than ever before. Your Mercury exists on a strange and beguiling astral plane, whereby the boundaries between the synth odysseys of the '70s, the guitar-noise-fuelled infernos of the '80s, horrorscore schlock, Reich-ian repetition, and a whole plethora of other cathode-ray and speaker-stack birthed epiphanies are blurred into one futuristic and fearsomely coherent whole. Teeth Of The Sea, the most exciting psychedelic band in the UK, have spun into a brand new orbit. In the vein of: Eno, Goblin, Emeralds, Butthole Surfers, Ash Ra Tempel and Liars.

New York's Oneida and Liverpool's Mugstar exert overdriven oscillating forces on an interstellar trip of humming ohm amps and shifting clusters where time shuttles flicker back and forth between eons. Explore the second in the Rocket Recordings odyssean Collisions series and joyride this twin engine release. The proceedings lift off with Oneida's moiré patterned "Shahin's Bong." Mugstar set chase with their own odyssean endeavor, "European Nihilism," the Aurora Borealis viewed from within. With the hum and drone of layered synths drawing the listener in, these psychedelic warlords hit you hard with a super-colossal Hawkwind-esque rock-out like a centrifugal force that twists and turns, morphing on a continual humming of valves into the artifice of repetitive noise, until at saturation point, the asymptotic curve annihilates you in the quest for the perfect ion.
