Jorge Ciccioli dives really deep into the minimal genre with Southern Tool. By focusing on the most important elements, he created three handy and driving DJ tools. The track "Sinatsuma" comes with a nice signature phrase that might get stuck in your head. The whole B-side is reserved for the remix by Franco Cinelli, who turned the main track into a dubby tech-house tune of almost 10 minutes.

Tim Xavier is the owner of the Manmade Mastering Studios -- usually the last link in the chain before the final pressing on vinyl. With his Play On Words EP, Xavier proves that he can realize the earlier production steps as well. The very sophisticated dry to dubby tracks happen somewhere between weird coldness and warm brutality. Xavier plays a lot with room and reverberation and lets the listener sink into the depths of his soundscapes.

Producer Oliver Ho aka Raudive is not a dark horse -- he returns to Rrygular with his new release Love Is The Devil. Straight and facing forward, but also "back to the roots" somehow, this Englishman knows how to use percussive elements without getting cheesy. A certain reference to electro is obvious, but it underlines the typical dirty Raudive sound, rather than trying to be referential. But who needs genres anyway? This is some kind of club-disco-techno-house-funk-electro monster.

After focusing more on DJing for some time, Kleinschmager Audio is back with a delicious release on his homebase, Rrygular. Wearing the technoid, housey Kleinschmager-dress, the tracks as well as his legendary DJ sets are well-concentrated and narrowed down to their core -- plain, reduced and always upfront! If vinyl only had a third side.

Charles Widmore and Daniel Rajkovic's tendency towards the more reduced and slightly darker side of electronic music led to a fertile cooperation that culminated in an imposing 12" on Rrygular. The three tracks ride wonderfully unagitated and alarmingly progressive along the label's typical minimal techno road. Suspenseful bridges and therapeutic vocals will excite you between off-beat emphasis, tribal influences, straight percussions and a slightly mystical touch, focused on the function of a loop.

Jorge Ciccioli is not a newbie anymore, he remixed Kleinschmager Audio's "Audio3" for Rrygular. Now, he delivers his first techno-stomper. Although with full focus on the dancefloor, "Jawa" doesn't need any stereotypical offbeat-emphasis but throws around percussion in semi-quavers. On the flip side, there's no time for you to relax! The hypnotic "Winter Solstice" remix by Tim Xavier really knocks your socks off.

Les Patates, the Rrygular release by Tassilo, one-half of Pan-Pot, is a serious techno smasher with high club potential. At first, there's just a nice party atmosphere and then a rough beat drops in. "Petite Patate" surprises by adding rudimental elements like the hi-hat, snare drum and billowing pads. Tassilo knows how to send the short melody figure through different stages of sound design, and this gives "Grosse Patate" a level of dynamic that most contemporary techno releases don't provide.

Niklas Worgt is a man of multiple identities. In 2010 he celebrates his 10th anniversary as Dapayk with a number of releases, like the album collection Decade One on Mo's Ferry. Although "Dapayk" is Worgt's most commonly-known moniker, he has been releasing sublime minimal techno as Marek Bois since 2006. It is under this guise that he presents to us the irrepressible Boissche Untiefen. Originally released in May 2008 on double CD, double vinyl and a remix 12", this album was a comprehensive package to follow up on his earlier, critically-acclaimed albums Black Beauty (MFP 031CD/LP) and Close Up (MFP 016CD/LP) -- a culmination of the works as one half of Dapayk & Padberg. The title Boissche Untiefen is a translator's nightmare, with "Untiefen" paradoxically meaning both "deep" and "shallow," dependent on the context. Social critique or statement of intent? Regardless, this record sails above the murky waters of mediocrity. Irrespective of the name it falls under, one thing synonymous with Worgt is a propensity to introduce rich and unusual sounds to his productions, which is nowhere more apparent than on this latest album. Revisiting his technoid roots of the mid-'90s, Worgt used more analog equipment than usual, and resisted the urge to polish tracks in the mix. Boissche Untiefen is a hi-end techno gem, a breathing organic progression through ten tracks that swell with innovation. In Boissche Untiefen, Niklas Worgt moves even closer to becoming the finished article. As inventive as he is prolific, this is a distinctly special album of ultra-modern techno, boiling over with fresh ideas. This package contains three formats. CD1 contains all LP tracks plus two bonus tracks, CD2 is a 61min live set recorded at Tresor, Berlin, November 16, 2007, and the 12" includes remixes by From Karaoke To Stardom, Marcel Knopf, Delete and Flower Pot.

This is Elon's first 12" on Rrygular. "Encounters" is catchy from the very first beat, pushing ahead in a detailed and sophisticated way despite the rough sound. The intelligent use of the resonant, wave-like pad in its different variations gets the listener to discover different aspects of the groove. "Morph" features layered sounds woven into floating, atmospheric snippets. Accompanied by wheezing, breathing and moaning, the track meanders through a forest of psychopathic horror synths and thunderous percussion.

Butane is back on Rrygular and he's not alone this time. He gets support from Midnight, who sweetens the deep Butane sound with her vocals. Minimal icon Bruno Pronsato takes the track to a level of timelessness that has no peer. And last but not least, Dapayk forms a techno tool par excellence from Midnight's silky voice and Butane's premium elements.
