Daphni is the alias of Dan Snaith aka Caribou, a man who has conquered the hearts of music lovers around the world with his album Swim. Here is a dancefloor-centric release from Dan following his seismic reworkings of Radiohead and Virgo Four. "Ahora" is a slinky, trippy, Eastern-tinged piece, with a tweaked-out synth riff that blows apart the uneasy equilibrium. On the remix tip are Margot, Border Community's super-gifted Italian duo, who deliver an even more wonky take on the original.

This remix 12" sees one of the standout tracks from Toro Y Moi's critically-acclaimed sophomore album get a reworking from the electronic mastermind that is Toby Tobias. Tobias' deep mix is a tribute to early Nuphonic records. On the flip, we hear work from a new name, Voodoo Bear aka Khaled Bourguig, blurring the line between electronic and organic music.

Amazing Sounds welcomes Luke Abbott into the fold for a 4-track EP of delicious Kraut-tech mayhem. "Honeycomb" pits a pulsing 4:4 groove against hissing white noise and gurgling ascending arpeggios, while "One Hundred And Thirteen" sees a fragile, juddering drum track colliding with a stuttering synth melody. "Present" changes things up completely with a blistering pace of 164 bpm. Rounding out the package is "Schmitt Swell," an apocalyptic noise-fest drenched in fizzing, sawtooth waves and self-oscillating, squealing squits and splats.

Baltimore's Dan Deacon confidently straddles the line between nut-job and genius, downright brilliant and insanely mind-bending, with a live show from another world inducing more audience participation than a seriously skewed pantomime. The label Amazing Sounds has brought together kindred spirits Hudson Mohawke, Allez-Allez and Luke Abbott to remix some tracks off of Deacon's highly-acclaimed Bromst, creating a rich and varied EP which mirrors the artist's rich and varied music.
