"Adam Jackson AKA Kidkut has played a major part in Bristol's music scene over recent years with his Immerse label releasing consistently outstanding music from the likes of Kontext, Benga, & Late to name but a few. Now Jackson is teaming up with leading imprint Apple Pips for the release of his own much awaited debut single. Apple Pips is the brainchild of Laurie Osborne AKA Appleblim who has made the label one of the most desirable dubstep/electronica imprints out there featuring music from Martyn, Ramadanman, Brackles, Instra:mental & more. Kidkut's single kicks off with the pointedly titled 'ILove04', a percussive roller that combines elements of broken beat, UK Funky, & early dubstep, with snippets of garage vocals and intense twisted bass. The arrangement cuts and flows perfectly, chopping between rhythms and melodic parts with the breakdown giving a definite nod of the head to oldskool hardcore. The flipside sees Kidkut going totally tropical with the magnificent 'Lilt', a percussive workout built around intricate drums and rolling bass that underpin the euphoric summer inspired synth lines. Bringing to mind the stripped down work of Karizma, this is sure to go down well with the Funky heads; indeed Bok Bok is already supporting the tune."

"Komonazmuk drops a tough slice of deep, stepping, and melodic dubstep for our 11th release. With his history in rave culture stretching back to the oldskool days, through releases on Hardleaders & Moving Shadow with Ice Minus, right up to his current cutting edge productions, Keiran Lomax aka Komonazmuk has got his fingers in many musical pies. Having had big releases on scene-leaders like Tempa, and his debut album coming on H.E.N.C.H., his versatility as a producer and engineer is second to none. Teaming up with Appleblim for remix work has resulted in stunning reworks of artists as varied as Bonobo, Brendon Moeller, and Harmonia & Brian Eno, for labels such as Ninja Tune, Francois Kevorkian's Wave Music, & Will Saul's Aus Music. In fact after Komonazmuk & Appleblim remixed Lee Jones & Nick Hoppner's My My project for Aus Music, Lee Jones returned the musical favour with this stunning deeper than deep house rework of 'Dance Too.' With a residency at Fabric, and regularly playing all over the world, 2010 is looking great for Komonazmuk! DJ/Radio support coming from Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 1), Rob Da Bank (Radio 1/Bestival), Sinden (Kiss/Domino), Appleblim & many more."

"With the success of our last releases getting props and plays from DJs as diverse as Erol Alkan, DJ T, Martyn, Deetron, & Rob Da Bank we are really excited to present our next slice of futuristic funk for your ears and booty from the extremely talented Joe. With his debut, the awesome Grimelight, being released on Hessle Audio, Joe is part of a loose group of likeminded and future-thinking producers & DJs that includes Hessle Audio's Ramadanman, Ben UFO, & Pangaea, and Untold & James Blake. Whilst they all have very individual sounds, they share a vision of dubstep, UK Funky, techno & house influenced beats that seem to defy genre. The A-side 'Untitled' is a huge stepping wad of funk, bringing to mind 2-step, early Skream & Benga, even stripped down grime classics like Pulse X, but with a truly contemporary twist. This tune drops hard, and has been a secret weapon of Appleblim's for some time now -- he was pleasantly surprised to see ravers of all ages go mad to it! The flip sees Joe's more experimental leanings come out on 'Digest', but he never forgets the groove and funk. With rolling percussion, steppy sub bass and shiny analogue synth stabs cutting through, it seems to us like a mixture of Mala from Digital Mystikz and Theo Parrish! High praise indeed. DJ/Radio support coming from Mary Anne Hobbs (BBC Radio 1), Modeselektor, Peverelist, Rob Da Bank (Radio 1/Bestival), Paul Woolford, Ramadanman, Brackles, Appleblim & many more."

"Apple Pips come out of nowhere with their latest release from newcomer to the scene Greena, two heavy slabs of garage/house influenced dubstep, 'Tenzado' is the freshest tune we've heard for a while, slick vocal hooks and smooth bass lines sounding like a cross between Cooly G, El-B and the 8bit vibes of Zomby. Absolutely massive release from Appleblim's Apple Pips, we're sure they're set for another massive year in '010! Don't sleep on this one!!"

"A drop from the mighty Apple Pips, and a chance to introduce 'Al Tourettes' and his debut release. Little is known about this Bristol based producer at the present time but big things are expected as he tackles the tribal minimal bass heavy sound championed by the Skull Disco crew. Appleblim has obviously spotted the potential for this producer and it does not disappoint. Check the Mary Anne Hobbs shows for a recent Al Tourettes showcase mix. Guaranteed sell-out business on this one!"

"Instra:mental are fast becoming the success story of the year, radically blurring the lines between drum & bass and dubstep with a distinctly '80s influence. These tracks are no exception, absolutely beautiful sounding music as championed on the hugely popular Autonomic Podcasts, support from Mary Anne Hobbes, dBridge, Appleblim and more."

"Appleblim first met Ramadanman and Deapoh at FWD>>, DMZ and various other dubstep nights when they were barely old enough to get into the clubs. Blim picked up Ramadanman's debut release on Deapoh's Bare Dubs imprint and started spreading it across dancefloors in a healthy pasting. A friendship was struck up. And when we first heard 'Humber' we were floored; the phasing synths, rolling riddim and deep subs summed up everything we love at Apple Pips. This boy is on fire at the moment with house, funky, drum n bass and dubstep all getting the Ramadizzle touch. A studio session in Dorset between Blim and Rammles resulted in the deep house and Italo influenced track 'Sous Le Sable' out now on Will Saul's Aus Music imprint and 'Justify,' a 140 BPM jazzed-out techno steppa with an awesome Detroit-style house rework from Will Saul and Mike Monday sublime!"

"Apple Pips proudly presents a release of genre crossing business from two very promising producers -- Ramadanman and Sven Weisemann. Ramadanman's profile is rising rapidly, with his Hessle Audio imprint releasing classics such as his own 'Blimey,' getting big support from Ricardo Villalobos and other house and techno jocks, 12"s for Soul Jazz showcasing a unique take on dubstep, garage, 2step and techno. Appleblim has been rinsing 'Humber' out for quite some time, its choppy beats and gorgeous phasing synths an instant highlight of his sets. Unbeknownst to him, Ramadanman had been in touch with Berlin-based producer Sven Weisemann about a remix, as Sven's gorgeous work on top labels Mojuba and Leibe Detail had caught his ear. Well -- here it is! And what a gem it is, too. 'Humber' -- Rolling beats compliment the beautifully melodic filtered synths, this has a real 2step/techno/godknowswhat feel to it! Bumpin' subs carry it through with some wicked progression going on in the melodies. 'Humber (Sven's Rumber Remix)' -- It's a real honour to have Sven Weisemann on Apple Pips, him having created one of our fave house tracks of recent times, 'Let's Swing' on Mojuba. He reshapes 'Humber' beautifully here, resetting it as a dubby yet melodic house track, with depth and soul. Radio and club support coming from Mary Anne Hobbs (Radio 1), Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson (Radio 1), Martyn (3024), Rob Da Bank (played it last Sunday on Radio 1) Flying Lotus, Mr Scruff, DJ Flight, Jamie Vex'd, Quarion and more."

"For the fourth outing on Appleblim's label, we are very excited to bring you 2 tracks from one of our favorite producers -- T++. We are very proud to present this forward-thinking music from a mainstay of pioneering beats. We won't wax lyrical, just drop the needle and lose yourself in the music. Deep, rolling, decaying techno, with submerged beats rising and surfacing from the depths, then switching the tempo to 140bpm and twisting the same sounds into ever more entrancing shapes, T++ shows his love of drumfunk producers such as Paradox in a new exciting context. Radio & club support coming from Marcel Dettman (Berghain/Ostgut), Mary Anne Hobbs (Radio 1), Peverelist (Punch Drunk/Tectonic), Shed (Ostgut) and more."
