"Wetting the appetite for the Puppets album, Aquatic Lab dish up two varied future bass experiments from Truth. First up 'Burglar,' a tech-stepping original production bedded with sharp snapping drums & snares that bite straight through the rave atmospherics. Bass wise this piece of kit is extreme to say the least, signature bulbous sub action. 'Dead Silence' comes from a charged half step angle with complex percussion. The track features a glossy synth line. At its core it evolves to unleash deadly licks of bass at opportune moments. Both cuts are a prime pick for the steppers. Getting huge support from Mala, Skream, N-type, Hatcha and Joe Nice."

"Aquatic Lab kicks off 2010 with an already established club anthem. Cluekid's remake of Reggie Stepper's 'Drum Pan Sound' strikes heavy with a ruff and rugged bassline that rolls nicely under the familiar melody and vocal hooks of the original. The drums on this one are clean, precise and ten tonne. The flip features an old school revivalist joint with the palette borrowing from jungle. 'Late Nights' brings forth quality production techniques, from the crisp percussion to the warm massively padded bassline. Essential."

"Brand new Aquatic Lab Records release following on from their string of successful Truth releases and a debut from UK based producer Barbarix. A hotly tipped newcomer who has initially made his name after a wicked remix of a tune off the latest Mistabishi LP Printer Jam on Hospital Records, the original received over one million hits on Youtube and was Colin Murray's record of the week on Radio One. 'Low Freqz' and 'Bass Rocker' both tap into the sounds of now, hard and heavy dubstep for the dancefloor supported by the likes of Maryy Anne Hobbs, Nerm & D-Code, Akira Kiteshi, The Others and more."

"Aquatic Lab Sessions Vol. 1 is a diverse package consisting of a selection of Aquatic Lab's vinyl catalogue combined with previously unreleased material. The compilation is constructed to be a collection of flowing styles, capturing everything from deep atmospheric textures to some serious sub rocking big rig material. The CD album features debut Aquatic Lab release by Caspa & Rusko 'King George,' 'Colditz' by UK Garage legend Zed Bias, 'Nah Go Dung Deh' by grime/dubstep star Cotti and 'The Darkness' & 'Dark Passenger' by acclaimed producer Seven. First up is a chilling future-scape progression titled 'Ankoku Butoh' by Moving Ninja; an organic journey that is unique in every possible way. Further on, the album showcases a wealth of underground sounds from the purist hard stepper 'Wasps' by P-Vans, to the dub inspired rhythmic 2-Step roller 'Hollandia,' produced by Spherix. New York based Australian producer Flash brings forth a hollowed out 4/4 dread bass long player in the form of 'Right Here' and Kila Mega Giga Tera, a live group consisting of Distro & Dub FX, deliver a kick-stepping, hard skanking piece of kit entitled 'Subsonic.' Vista comes with a sub shaking hybrid of moody minimalism in the shape of 'Neptune,' and to round off the installment, bass scientist Twitch culminates the release with an original piece of wobble bass that is brimming with character and primed for the dance floor."

"The next Aquatic Lab release touches down in the form of 'Revelation' and 'Lost At Sea,' backing up last release with two more fresh productions from New Zealand's Truth. 'Revelation' is a complex arrangement of layered percussion and broad soundscaping techniques. This track has to be heard to be believed, perfectly proportioned production coupled with a devastating bassline making it primed for the draw back. On the flip, 'Lost At Sea' arrives at another crossing point between dubstep experimentalism by expertly fusing dub chords with deep kickstep syncopations. Riding over ridiculous amounts of rolling sub weight, dislocated vocal effects create a dusty jazz style that's finding favour with a forward thinking audience. Massive plate."

"Aquatic Lab's sixth release comes in the form of a massive package from New Zealand's highly regarded bass production trio Truth. Kicking it off is 'Terror Planet,' a big room darkside journey displaying the lavish production techniques that have won Truth much accolade thus far. 'Terror Planet' is built around a tech intensive drum break, and fires up with a pulsating sub bass line that will destroy any dancehall. The flipside features 'Disappear,' a meditative stepper that evolves to unleash a deadly sub, layered with a hoover edged bassline. Riding over are bold and bashy beats that will get any floor moving. An essential release receiving DJ support from a number of big names already."

"Aquatic Lab's fifth installment reinforces the preceding release with yet more ammunition from Seven. 'Dark Passenger' is a track that needs no introduction. It has received solid support form the likes of N Type, Benga, Skream and Youngsta. One of Seven's finest productions to date, 'Dark Passenger' is an insistent slab of stepper bass science, all formatted into a brutal rolling trek. The flipside features 'Conspiracy,' a massively anticipated track delivering a deep lesson in complex rhythm construction crafted upon a deadly textured bassline. Absolutely massive -- don't sleep!"

"Aquatic Lab's second installment features the original dark breakbeat garage pioneer Zed Bias. A legendary figure, he is credited for laying the foundations of the dubstep sound. For LAB002, Zed Bias deploys two clean cuts of the 2-step/dubstep variation. Firstly, 'Solidarity Drop' -- a high grade drum rollout session equipped for the summer dance -- featuring the combined production talents of Joshua Black. On the flip -- 'Colditz' -- the big bass drum steppa of 2008 with a bassline designed for maximum sound system annihilation."

"Following on from Cotti's heavy gear, Aquatic Lab have enlisted one of the freshest names in the scene in the form of Seven. Kicking off on the A with 'Drop,' Seven shows he will be a name to be reckoned with in the near future. Unbelievably tight percussion blended with a nasty rolling bassline, this one will slot into many a set. Lights out. Late night styles! The flip is 'The Darkness' -- a D&B indebted atmospheric future stepper, featuring a huge bass kick ride. A much anticipated release, 'The Darkness' is receiving massive dubplate support form the likes of N Type, Skream and Youngsta."
