Welcome to a kaleidoscopic picnic where you can feast on a music scene that was rich, sparkling, multi-colored, ground-breaking and it'll blow your mind. A prodigious soundscape that blends the Caribbean and the Amazon sophistication and flavors; raw yet delicate textures. Joropop: Psych Pop & Folk in Venezuela, 1968-1976 features infectious Latin rock rhythms and timeless folk melodies across 15 ultra-rare tracks -- most of which have never been reissued until now. The golden age of Caracas pop started in 1965. It replaced the wave of cloyingly romantic song writing as fresh talents leant into richer and more complex styles: folk-rock, psychedelia, soul, hard blues, symphonic pop, Latin rock etc. Singer-songwriters, experimental electric guitars and jam sessions all appeared on the scene, creating music that became increasingly refined and free. The industry took a while to catch on to this new trend and leave behind the teen idols and dream lifestyles. By the late '60s, there was a long list of new bands in the capital city. Young people finally found their voice. Featuring El Zigui Y Una Luz, Grupo Espiga, Grupo Syma, La Fe Perdida, Ladies W.C., Los Fabricantes De Muñecas, Los Memphis, La Cuarta Calle, Grupo C.I.M., Grupo Pan, Los Rangers, Los Chicos Malos, Ciruela, The Four Blues, and La Cuarta Calle.

On their last trip to Silberland, hurtled along the chrome highways and glass skyways of the kosmische landscape, powered ever onwards in perpetual motorik motion. This time, however, the Hamburg imprint opt for an unhurried itinerary, coasting far beyond the familiar rhythmic terrain to immerse listeners in the ambient side of this alternative Allemagne. Building on the tape loops, tone poems, and minimalist compositions of the '60s avant-garde, these musicians utilized the sweeping scope of the synthesizer to create expansive meditations. This compilation offers a survey of this singular era, blending pioneering voices with lesser-known artists for an immersive sonic experience. Taken from Cluster & Eno's self-titled 1977 album, "Ho Renomo" opens the set with a profound minimalism. Roedelius' "Veilchenwurzeln" follows, evoking pastoral scenes in a multi-layered and undulating composition, where synths flow gently, conjuring images of open fields and embodying an organic warmth. Der Plan's "Die Wüste" delves into darker territories, translating the visual world of Rainer Kirberg's cult film into a stark soundscape, while Rolf Trostel's "Hope Is The Answer" sees a steady sequence rise and fall beneath the filter. The koto-like plucks and piercing drones of Vono's "Hitze" create a mysterious and hypnotic experience which draws on both ancient and futuristic tones before giving way to "E-Night", a recording from the sessions of You's 1980 LP Electric Days. As the album progresses, Serge Blenner's "Phrase IV" beguiles with minimalist yet celestial synth lines, while Moebius' "Falsche Ruhe" offers a quiet, haunting meditation on solitude. From there, Harald Grosskopf's "Oceanheart," envelops listeners in aquatic ambient textures that suggest serene, moonlit waters -- a perfect surface to reflect the starry sky portrayed by Lapre's acoustic guitar and wistful synths. The glimmering, crystalline, landscape of Riechmann's "Abendlicht" finds a heartbeat amongst the tranquility, leading seamlessly into the unhurried progression of shimmering chords and chiming synths which make up Adalbert von Deyen's "Per Aspera Ad Astra". Unreleased until Bureau B's recent retrospective set, Faust's "Lampe An, Tür Zu, Leute Rein!" channels a darker, introspective, energy, marked by drones and field recordings while Conrad Schnitzler's "Electric Garden" creates an electronic biosphere buzzing with synthetic life. Moebius & Plank's "Nordöstliches Gefühl" pairs calm percussion and rhythm guitar with pastoral, swirling electronics, resulting in a lush, stately piece that captures the spirit of a vast, open landscape. Deutsche Wertabeit delivers hypnotic minimalism, before Asmus Tietchens' "Räuschlinge" pulls the listener into an eerie atmosphere of deep disquiet. Pyrolator's "Minimal Tape 1/8" offers an immersive wall of sound. The wintry "Southland" by Rüdiger Lorenz evokes the isolation of frozen landscapes, a fitting prologue for "Alleewalzer" by Thomas Dinger.

Tectonic Sound Vinyl 3. 2025 marks 20 years of Tectonic, the pioneering dubstep and electronic label founded in 2005 by Bristol's underground originator, DJ Pinch. The Tectonic Sound compilation lays down the gauntlet for the future direction of the imprint. Split across 6 x 4-track 12"s and double CD, the compilation comprises many producers making their Tectonic debut, including Re:ni, Beatrice M., Yushh, Flora Yin-Wong, and Sicaria, alongside stalwarts like Om Unit, RSD, Peverelist and Kahn & Neek. It's an exhilarating 24-track journey through experimental, bass-heavy electronic music, with almost all tracks created by the artists specifically with Tectonic's sound in mind -- at the intersection where dubstep and techno meet. Across Tectonic's 150-strong catalogue there are seminal releases by 2562, Scientist, and Mumdance & Logos, side by side with appearances from Flying Lotus, Shed, Adrian Sherwood, Riko Dan, and Photek. The label holds some of the earliest dubstep incantations of Skream, Digital Mystikz, and Joker as well as Pinch's own productions. The evolution of the Tectonic sound branches into audio explorations encompassing sub-heavy techno and grimey soundscapes alongside leftfield electronica and future-facing beats. The common thread that binds is Pinch's devotion to pushing underground music ahead of its time, always built to rattle a soundsystem.

Efficient Space honors trailblazing Australian imprint Volition Records with Volition Cuts Vol. 1. Evolving from Andrew Penhallow's time at GAP Records, which smuggled Cabaret Voltaire, The Fall and the Factory catalogue into the region, Volition shifted focus to homegrown talent over imported sounds. Echoing its precursor's blend of indie friction and electronic curiosity, the label wired itself into the pulse of club and rave culture, linking city scenes and amplifying them for the mainstream. With retina-scorching design, uncompromising packaging and top-tier remixes, Volition consistently bent the major label machine to its will. No Volition retrospective would be complete without Sisters Underground's intergenerational anthem "In the Neighbourhood." Ōtara teenagers Brenda Makamoeafi and Hassanah Iroegbu brought their Pasifika perspective to Proud (An Urban-Pacific Streetsoul Compilation), a commercial success that platformed NZ rap and R&B with a clarity that outshone its overseas counterparts. The quiet architect of Volition's sound, producer prodigy Robert Racic flipped the classic as a hip-house dub before his untimely passing in 1996. Its A-side companion comes from Brisbane synth-pop unit Boxcar, who signed to Volition after frontman Dave Smith handed a cassette to Tom Ellard of Severed Heads during a school newspaper interview. That unlikely handoff led to their 1990 debut Vertigo. Here, their ritual-laced, body-jacking industrial is retooled by Miami freestyle maverick Tony Garcia. Further cherry-picking from the VOLT vaults, Sexing The Cherry unleash a bleep-addled meltdown from Brisbane's Edwin Morrow and Cherryn Lomas. "This Is A Dream" was recorded exclusively for High (A Dance Compilation), the first all-Australian V/A to top the ARIA charts, propelling the local movement into national consciousness. Closing the sampler, Sydney's Single Gun Theory joined Volition as they moved from post-punk abstraction and electronic collage toward downtempo, sample-based mysticism. Their 1994 ambient-pop reverie "Fall" is reimagined by Stuart Crichton and Apollo 440's Norman Fisher-Jones as full-throttle Goa trance, a final surge that channels the label's relentless push into new terrain. Volition Cuts Vol. 1 is dedicated to the loving memory of Volition's visionary founder Andrew Penhallow, and key contributors Robert Racic and Edwin Morrow.

RELEASE DATE: 8/1/2025
A compilation of South African punk bands originally released on cassette by French label Western Front Tapes in 1983. Compiled by Rubin 'WILDMAN' Rose, it features, in addition to the established bands of that period -- Wild Youth (South Africa's first punk rock band, formed in 1978 and Rubin Rose's group), Leopard, Gay Marines (both among the very first bands of the scene) and Powerage (from Durban, on the scene since 1981) -- lesser-known names with almost non-existent discographies but certainly worthy of being brought to light today. Those selection gave a broader and clearer picture of what it meant to be a punk band in the apartheid years. Also featuring Ultra White Lovers, Dead Babies, Wild Justice, Private File, Rotors, Warspike, and Leopard.

RELEASE DATE: 7/25/2025
Flamenco is a Spanish art, which has always been prone to hybridization with a multitude of musical languages. Therefore, the universe of "flamenco fusion" could well reflect the way in which Spaniards have related throughout history with other cultures. And that relationship may have often been one of dialogue, exchange, respect and crossbreeding. Among the circumstances that could have favored the traditional mestizaje of flamenco art is the open character of the south of the Iberian Peninsula, to all the civilizations that have settled in its territories; the encounter with America in 1492, and the brotherhood with the Spanish-speaking countries; that the Casa de contratación de Indias, the entity that regulated the transit between Spain and America for centuries, was founded in none other than Seville! (and olé); without forgetting the fundamental African contribution, brought to America by millions of black slaves throughout the 400 years of the slave trade. Pícaro Vol. 4 is an excellent example of how some Spanish flamenco musicians knew how to take advantage of the fashion of other styles and rhythms coming from outside Spain, creating a new sound universe and incorporating them into their repertoire. Undoubtedly, there is a generational replacement of "flamenco Ye-Ye" in Spain with artists like Rosalía or C. Tangana, although now it will be necessary to modernize "the label". This compilation offers listeners a snapshot of the multiple styles of flamenco hybridization that triumphed in the world during the decades of the '50s and '60s of the 20th century. Through its microsurcos comes immeasurable flamenco ye yé (track 1), flamenco rock and roll (tracks 3 and 4), flamenco cha cha chá (tracks 6, 7 and 15) or flamenco mambo (track 12), together with other unusual, exotic and impossible mixes of Spanish song with tango arrabalero, bluegrass, easy listening, swing, groove or soul. Always a happy mix, brought together with exquisite taste in this vinyl for your enjoyment. Featuring Juana Chicharro, Encarnita, Amina Y Su Cuadro Flamenco, Dolores Abril Y Juanito Valderrama, El Titi, María Bonita Y José De Moreno, Los Alcarson, Paquito Jerez, Rosita, Rafael Martínez Y Su Orquesta, Emilio Varela, Felipe Campuzano, Los Españoles, Tito Moya Y Su Orquesta, Los Plata, and Rosa Morena.

"Call Me By Your Name, the film by Luca Guadagnino, is a sensual and transcendent tale of first love, based on the acclaimed novel by Andre Aciman. Summer of 1983, Northern Italy. An American-Italian is enamored by an American student who comes to study and live with his family. Together they share an unforgettable summer full of music, food, and romance that will forever change them. The film received critical acclaim. Critics praised in particular Chalamet, Hammer and Stuhlbarg's performances, Guadagnino's direction and the screenplay. Call Me By Your Name won a variety of Awards, including Academy, Bafta, GLAAD and many more. Sufjan Stevens's song 'Mystery of Love' was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song at the 90th Academy Awards. Luca Guadagnino wanted the film's music to be connected to Elio, a young pianist who likes to transcribe and adapt pieces in order to get close to Oliver. The music is used to reflect the time, the characters' family, level of education and 'the kind of canon they would be a part of.' Guadagnino found himself resonating with Sufjan Stevens' lyricism through his work and initially asked Stevens to record an original song. Eventually, Stevens contributed three songs to the soundtrack: 'Visions of Gideon,' which was used at the end of the film, 'Mystery of Love,' which was featured in the film's first trailer and a new rendition of 'Futile Devices' with piano. Stevens penned the songs by using the script, the book, and the conversations with the director about the characters. It marks Sufjan Stevens' first soundtrack for a feature film. The vinyl package of Call Me By Your Name includes a poster, an insert and the 180-gram records are housed in two exclusive printed inner sleeves."

At the height of Pan-Arabism, when the United Arab Republic fused Egypt and Syria in a fleeting but bold experiment, a new wave of popular music was emerging -- vibrant, infectious, and universally danceable. Among its lesser-known stars was actress Leila Gamal, whose voice -- delicate yet rich with longing -- embodied the golden era of Egyptian cinema. Born in Alexandria to Syrian roots, Gamal's vocals were a magnetic blend of sweetness and passion, with a timeless allure that echoed the silver-screen sweethearts of her time. "Abaleeh Abalingi" pulses with the hypnotic drive of funky organ riffs, reminiscent of the blind visionary Ammar El Sheriyi, creating a sound both cinematic and undeniably catchy. The delicate lyrics by Khairi Fouad place the track firmly in the lineage of the Middle East's most iconic pop divas, from Angham to Nawal El-Zoughbi who he subsequently wrote for. This reissue, lovingly remastered, brings this long-lost gem back to life, where it belongs -- spinning on turntables, teasing dance floors, and transporting listeners to Egypt in the late sixties. Adel Osman's "Oriental Eyes" captures the essence of the '60s Egyptian Franco-Arab movement, blending Western (often jazz) influences with Arabic melodies to mesh mystique with sensuality. Osman's commanding yet delicate vocals deliver the bilingual lyrics with captivating sincerity, his voice effortlessly gliding over the swells of the arrangement. The trumpet, possibly connecting him to Zaki Osman of Salah Ragab's legendary Cairo Jazz Band, adds a layer of flair, enriching the track's Tarantino-esque eclecticism. Now remastered, "Oriental Eyes" is not only a nostalgic gem but a timeless reminder of the boundary-defying spirit that defined the 1960s musical landscape. Given the ongoing war efforts against Israel, this record wasn't pressed by Sono Cairo till much later in 1975 once Egypt had recaptured the Sinai and restored national pride.

Belgian label Music Man Records presents Boccaccio Life 1987-1993, a new compilation offering a fresh perspective on the legacy of the iconic Belgian club Boccaccio -- often associated with the short-lived New Beat movement. The 40-track compilation highlights the raw and futuristic early house and techno sounds that were heard in the pioneering club. Located in rural Destelbergen (Belgium), just a stone's throw from Ghent, Boccaccio has secured its place among legendary venues like Paradise Garage in New York and The Haçienda in Manchester. Boccaccio Life 1987-1993 is carefully curated by resident DJ Olivier Pieters and club regular Stefaan Vandenberghe, standing as the ultimate testament to a club that was more than just a venue. This compilation stands as a testament to an innovative time in electronic music, capturing the raw, futuristic sounds of early house and techno. It sheds light on another side of Boccaccio, one that goes far beyond the short-lived New Beat scene. A carefully curated selection of 40 tracks, resonating with those who were there by offering familiar classics, while also reaching a new generation-those who never experienced it firsthand. While not always the obvious hits, these tracks have gracefully withstood the test of time, and were exclusive to Sundays at Boccaccio. Now, they are finally available to experience together in one collection, offering a timeless snapshot of a unique era. Featuring Age Of Chance, Revelation, NJOI, Simon Sed, E-Dancer, Tronikhouse, Suburban Knight, Robert Armani, Edwards & Armani, Human Resource, Fred Brown, Sheer Taft, Basex, 2 Men From Jersey, A Homeboy, A Hippie & A Funki Dredd, Steve Poindexter, Bobby Konders, 33 1/3 Queen, A Guy Called Gerald, Mental Mayhem, The D.O.C., Mellow Man Ace, Tyree, Blake Baxter, Yvette, Alice D In Wonderland, Todd Terry presents CLS, Frankie Bones, LFO, Frank De Wulf, The Orb, Frankie Knuckles, QX-1, Pleasure Zone, Egotrip, The Gherkin Jerks, Mr. Fingers, Laurent X, Joeski, and Virgo.

Over the decades, the image of Kompakt as a pirate ship has taken root in our minds, braving the dangers of the seven seas of the music market. Sometimes it glides with a tailwind through calm waters, sometimes it has to survive violent storms. In the label's fast-paced business, the 500 mark is rarely reached, so Kompakt wants to celebrate it. In a democratic process, the label has selected 50 pearls from the thousands of tracks released over the last 33 1/3 years. Alongside many Kompakt evergreens, there are also some real rarities from the early Kompakt Sound of Cologne, which have been lovingly remastered here to shine in new splendor. The 5LP box set version (KOM 500LP) also contains a 144-page book that tells the story of Kompakt from 1993 to today with detailed texts and images. In addition to the manifold musical and graphic achievements of Kompakt, the multidisciplinary links to the visual arts are also highlighted here. The magic of groovy loop minimalism and the "art of omission" are once again brought to the proverbial point. Featuring Tocotronic, Kaito, Terranova, Justus Köhncke, Heiko Voss, Leandro Fresco/Thore Pfeiffer, The Bionaut, Ada, Raz Ohara, Superpitcher, Rex The Dog, Dettinger, The Field, Robag Wruhme, Saschienne, Max Würden, Gas, Triola AG, Thomas Fehlmann, Scsi-9, Jürgen Paape, The Modernist, Aril Brikha, T.Raumschmiere, Reinhard Voigt, Schaeben & Voss, DJ Koze, The Orb, Michael Mayer, Laurent Garnier, Anna & Kittin, Mike Ink, Reinhard Voigt, Forever Sweet, Wassermann, Sven Väth, Blank Gloss, Michael Mayer / Matias Aguayo, Wighnomy Bros., John Tejada, Sam Taylor-Wood, Pet Shop Boys, Gui Boratto, Jürgen Paape, Matias Aguayo, Voigt & Voigt, Gui Boratto, Kölsch, GusGus, Closer, Wassermann, Jürgen Paape, Superpitcher, and Markus Guentner.
