"It is impossible to overstate the significance of The Crowd to the nascent L.A. hardcore scene. Whilst bands like early Agent Orange and Social Distortion were playing to handfuls of fans in northern Orange County, in 1979 The Crowd were already filling backyards on their home turf in Huntington Beach, California. Ironically, it was further afield in the San Gabriel Valley that I first saw them perform, opening for the still punk Go-Go's in a small club. Without the continuing success of The Crowd in 1979 and throughout the summer of 1980, I would have packed my bags for London. Instead, the L.A. hardcore scene lifted off!" --Robbie Fields, Posh Boy Records

Released in 1982, You Goddamn Kids! by Geza X is a raw, rebellious album from L.A.'s underground punk scene. Known for producing bands like the Dead Kennedys and Black Flag, Geza brings his wild production style to his own music here, mixing punk energy with satirical lyrics that take sharp jabs at society. Tracks like "Isotope Soap" and "We Need More Power" embody the chaotic spirit of early punk. This edition includes two bonus tracks, adding even more grit and attitude to a cult classic that resonates with punk's DIY ethos. Limited edition vinyl reissue comes with double sided insert and reproduction of the original bumper sticker included in the first edition. Remastered by Geza X.

Formed in the northeast town of South Shields in 1977, punk/Oi! band Angelic Upstarts recorded two studio albums for Warner Brothers and two for EMI's Zonophone subsidiary before being dropped by the latter. Work was begun on an abortive fifth studio album that forms the bulk of the brilliant Lost & Found, with superior versions of "Last Tango In Moscow" material featuring the classic Upstarts line up of Mensi/Mond/Glyn/Decca. Live tracks from the Main Event gig at the London Astoria have Mensi/Hayes/Ronnie Rocker/Max Splodge. This is required listening for all Upstarts fans. Thoroughly excellent!

When pioneering no wave act Teenage Jesus and the Jerks inevitably split, vocalist/anti-guitarist Lydia Lunch launched a solo career that continues to the present with countless reinventions along the way. 2004 downtempo gem Smoke In The Shadows sees Lunch in west coast cinematic jazz mode, offset by hip-hop backbeats, Afro-Cuban rhythms and funk. Created by the team of Tommy Grenas and Len Del Rio of Anubian Lights, featuring guitarist Nels Cline and saxophonist Niels Van Hoorn from Legendary Pink Dots with special guest vocalist Carla Bozulich. It's the perfect foil for Lunch as Femme Fatale starring in her own B-movie, a film noir soundtrack that both threatens and seduces.

Reissue, originally released in 1982. Absolutely essential UK OI! classic, originally released on the band's own label. Limited reissue on red/white splatter vinyl limited to 500 copies only, with double-sided lyrics insert included. "An unequivocal title gives way to an unrelenting sound! The Last Resort's debut album might have kicked off with a wall of noise lifted straight from Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs' ('Freedom'), but skill Skinhead Anthems does exactly what it says on the tin, ripping a dozen self-composed monsters out of the band's set list and nailing them to the studio with brutal disdain for any of the niceties. Certainly, the band's influences are loud on their sleeves -- Sham and the Cockney Rejects hang heavy over the proceedings. But Last Resort's refusal to lose their own instincts within the trappings of sociology and 'relevance' conquer all; 'Skinheads in Stapress,' 'Rebels with a Cause,' and 'Resort Boot Boys' speak to the very heart of the skinhead movement, and if it all sounds a little dated today, then that's your look-out." --AllMusic

Reissue, originally released in 2003. The first punk band from Peterborough, northwest of Cambridge, the Now spun off from the Faderz, with singer Mike McGuire, guitarist Steve Rools, drummer Joe MacColl, and bassist Paul Wicks, later replaced by Faz Farrow. Debut 45 Development Corporation charted, but the band split after Into The 80's; in 2002, German label Last Year's Youth re-released the 45s, which led to Here Come The Now, where vintage songs share space with the re-formed band's new takes of earlier work, a best-of-both-worlds approach that puts everything together in one place. A must for all fans of the Now and lovers of intelligent British punk.

Color vinyl version. Pioneering Dutch punk band, the Squats, was one of the first to emerge from the underground of late 1970s Nijmegen. The core of the group morphed into Oi! band the Magnificent, and after a shared cassette with Angelic Upstarts and tracks on early Oi! compilations, an augmented Magnificent cut quality debut, Hit And Run, released by Link in 1988, which captures the band at their tightest. Internal friction would lead to further lineup changes, making Hit And Run the must-have for fans of the band and all lovers of Oi! If you don't know, get to know, and if you already know, be thankful for another chance to grab it! Three bonus tracks included!

Formed by singer John Denney and his guitarist brother Dix (sons of actress Nora Denney), with bassist Cliff Roman and drummer Beat Alexander, pioneering Los Angeles art-rock band the Weirdos pre-dated the punk scene, taking their cues from the Ramones, Iggy Pop, and the New York Dolls. Debut EP Destroy All Music began their fruitful relationship with BOMP! Records and to celebrate BOMP!'s 50th anniversary, this edition of ace compilation Destroy All Music joins the original EP with earlier demos and the Who? What? Where? When? Why? LP. This is the cream of the band's crop in one beautiful package -- absolutely essential!

Color vinyl version. Considered the first punk band in Detroit, the ironic power-pop-punk quartet Cinecyde launched Tremor Records in 1977 to handle their own work, issuing several singles and EPs before cutting this dynamite debut long-player in 1982. Arguably the band's best release, the album captured Cinecyde at its tightest and made clear that the sound was all their own, the players directing their raw power into unusual power-pop song structures, the high level of musical skill and cliche-free lyrics relegating the output to a unique category. This is a must-have for fans of the group and all lovers of intelligent, non-standard Midwest punk!

The Specials shook up the British music scene in 1979 when their blend of English punk and Jamaican ska took the nation by storm. The Dawning of a New Era collects the legendary 1978 demos, cut when the group was known as The Automatics, with Silverton Hutchinson on drums and before the arrival of Neville Staples. Favorites such as "Night Klub," "Too Much Too Young," "Stupid Marriage," "Concrete Jungle," "Blank Expression," and the title track are here presented in rougher, spikier arrangements, much of the work-in-progress referencing the reggae stylings of the late 1960s and early '70s. A must for all Specials fans!

Color vinyl version. Having played with the likes of influential movers and shakers on the anarcho-punk scene Antisect and Icons of Filth, on their first full-length LP, Birmingham's Sacrilege established themselves as a unique force to be reckoned with, wreaking havoc on what could be classified as sonic tropes belonging to a spectrum of subgenres dealing in the extremes: hardcore, doom, and thrash. Fronted by Lynda 'Tam' Simpson and her seizure-inducing spells injected with a fierce, sociopolitical-cum-mythopoeic banshee bite (but not wanting to understate the line-up of Damian Thompson on guillotine-quick/milkshake thick guitars) -- the six-track onslaught is every bit as crushing as the title suggests. From depraved dungeon synth-scapes on opener Lifeline to the planet-flattening funeral toll of "The Closing Irony," one question remains: One riff to rule them all? Yes.

Formed in Stoke on Trent in 1977, northern band Discharge changed the British punk scene forever with a distinctive brand of hardcore, making minimalistic mu-sic with heavily distorted guitar, drone-like bass, shouted anarchic vocals and a style of propulsive drumming, known as D Beat. This new edition of the legendary London debut, unleashed at Camden's Music Machine in October 1980, is a blistering set that captures the group at their freshest, the audience response so great that they revisit "Realities Of War," "Fight Back," "Tomorrow Belongs To Us," and "They Declare It" for the full-throttle encore. Essential Discharge!

Recorded in Los Angeles in 1982, 13.13 exists as document to the pandemonium of specters and potential serial killers who twisted the California Dream into a waking nightmare as they snaked through the boulevards, back yards and basements of a sun stroked paradise turning into a blood-soaked inferno of fear, paranoia, panic and lust killings. Lush musical textures provided by members of seminal art punks The Weirdos -- Dix Denney, Cliff Martinez, and Greg Williams create a hypnotic backdrop to Lydia Lunch's evocative vocals and terrifying lyrics.

Color vinyl version. The Fuzztones' sophomore set Lysergic Emanations is often hailed as the best album that the garage rock band ever released. As with their debut album, the disc mixes cover versions of obscure 1960s garage rock tracks with some inspired original work, and this one benefitted from being cut in the studio, allowing listeners to hear the group in full-spectrum stereo, without the noisy distractions of a live setting. Keen covers of songs by the Sonics, the Yardbirds and Sonny Boy Williamson are rendered in their own image and the originals sound totally on form too. Lysergic Emanations is the Fuzztones' pinnacle -- totally superb!

Fully remastered! '80s garage rockers the Fuzztones had deep roots in the east coast punk scene. Frontman Rudi Protrudi got his start in hard rockers Springhead Motorshark and formed the influential DC punk act Tina Peel with organist Deb O'Nair, going on to the Fuzztones with bassist Michael Jay, drummer Ira Elliot and guitarist Elan Portnoy. Debut album Leave Your Mind At Home captures the group at their rawest and most unexpurgated: recorded live on a 1984 tour of the Midwest, the group thrills the crowds with riveting takes of obscure '60s nuggets. This is where the journey starts, a loveable warts-n-all set of garage rock bangers!
