Official RSD 2025 UK Release. First ever vinyl re-issue of this collaborative jam aptly named Rock Workshop. Originally released in 1970 on CBS, this could have been a major cult in the vein of Traffic's John Barleycorn Must Die or The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown, but failed to became an instant classic. Time is a gentleman perhaps, or so it seems. And time has come to restore this marvelous manifesto. A fantastic project led by Scottish axeman Alex Harvey (before his venture in the Sensational Alex Harvey Band) on guitar/vocals, the Rock Workshop featured a who's who of the English jazz scene. Virtuoso Ray Russell is on fire on guitar, while trumpet player Harry Beckett, tenor saxophonist Bob Downes and clarinet/flute player Tony Roberts described the extreme regions of the rhythm'n'blues credo. The rhythm section was comprised of stunning drummer Alan Rushton, bass player Daryl Runswick and conga player Robin Jones. Filled with enough impro madness and wild acid blues licks the album is mostly an instrumental affair, the further nine minutes of final track "He Looks At Me" being a proper example. Even collecting a masterful rendition of traditional "Wade In The Water" the album is a must have for any freaky progressive head.
Official RSD 2025 UK Release. Brand new Emika EP Frames just for RSD25. Comes with two remixes from the hugely adored Italian DJ Producer Adiel, and Ukrainian electronic sound artist Hanna Svirska, who is newly signed to Emika Records. Brand new bass-heavy, moody pop songs, taking it back to her Bristolian roots: Emika delivers four tracks in Frames which document her life in sound, lyrics and minor chords as she transitioned from Berlin after 17 years, to The Black Forest. Having unknowingly let the devil in the back-door, the EP tells the story of how self-taught spirituality and meditation brought no light, and a return to nature saved her. Frames is about putting hard experiences into a frame, to respect and remember them. Emika put them here into some heavy songs. Emika included an instrumental and vocal acapella like in the good old days.

Official RSD 2025 UK Release. Test Driving The New Prius is a 35-minute radio play (with sound effects) written and performed by Jim Fry (Earl Brutus, Pre New) and Luke Haines (The Auteurs, Baader Meinhof). Just as that other modernist masterpiece Ulysses depicted a day in the life of Leopold Bloom, Test Driving The New Prius follows the life in a daze of Endgame Man. In this tale of derring-do the hero acts out a perilous adventure in the 400 yards between his home, his local pub and the off-licence. With nervous system reduced to a series of involuntary twitches and reality reduced to a background hum of decades of half absorbed mindless daytime TV wittering. Can Endgame Man get home and make it through to Wednesday with only his spirit familiars -- an endless trail of 75cl bottles of Glen's vodka to guide him? With cameos from Jayne MacDonald, Brian Eno, Martin Degville, and the cast of Blankety Blank (1980). Written and executed by Jim Fry and Luke Haines. Originally broadcast as a Radio Play in 2022. Now a limited-edition 12-inch vinyl LP.

RSD 2025 indie exclusive. In 1962, Black music was making its transition from R&B to soul and the Chicago music industry was exploding, producing thousands of records and dozens of new labels. The two biggest black labels, Vee-Jay and Chess, led in the creation of the distinctive, smooth, Chicago soul brand with names familiar and not so familiar: the former with Curtis Mayfield and Jerry Butler and the latter with Mitty Collier, Etta James, and Billy Stewart. And yet it's the smaller labels that make up the bulk of the Chicago story: Hawk with Geraldine Taylor, Lu-Cee with Roberta, M-Pac with Dorothy Prince, and it's here that History of Soul explores some of the finest sounds of the era in this collection. Extensive liner notes written by Robert Pruter, author of the acclaimed Chicago Soul. Also featuring McKinley Mitchell, The Impressions, The Five Du-Tones, Jan Bradley, Tony Adams, Ted Taylor, Walter Jackson, Sugar Pie DeSanto, Dee Clark, Major Lance, and Moss Tolbert.

Official RSD 2025 UK Release. Exclusive vinyl with the singles released by the Watford's punk band between 1981 and 1983. "At last, someone has collected all our singles from the early '80s and put them together in a sensitively thought-out vinyl package! If you are reading this you haven't picked up on Sad Lovers & Giants from big media, you've maybe heard of us from a friend or read something about us in a specialist music magazine, or maybe you were one of the 4,000 people who saw us play at the Visor Festival in Spain last month. Whatever your journey to this point in time you are most welcome to join our family. Before I began to write this piece I listened to some of the tracks and I admit there was a small tear or two as I remembered: Pet Sounds Studios, an eight-track reel to reel studio in a basement under a pet shop in Kennington, South London, our first studio experience as fresh faced 20 year olds. Surrey Sounds, a studio above a milk depot where Siouxsie and The Banshees had recorded singles, we got some studio time through the night when The Professionals weren't recording. Silo Studio in Hammersmith, the engineer was stoned, I smoked at least three packets of cigarettes during the session and having arrived at the studio with a song we believed in, we came out disillusioned and slightly underwhelmed; maybe greatness wasn't destined to descend upon us at that stage of our career. Spaceward in Cambridgeshire, an old school building turned into a professional recording studio, where we recorded our first album Epic Garden Music over a weekend working through the night with about an hour of sleep. We returned there to record our second album, Feeding The Flame which took two months rather than two days. But my moist eyes are not for the broken dreams, the incredible highs or even the camaraderie with fellow band members, all of whom I may add we are still in touch with. My slight sadness is for my lost youth and the courageous optimism of those early days so viscerally evoked by this collection of songs. The glory of the world fades but in reality Sad Lovers & Giants goes from strength to strength, albeit in a very understated English way mainly because that's the way we like it."

Lantern Records presents the reissue of Cimarons masterpiece, originally released on Vulcan in 1976. Propelled by a fantastic documentary on their career -- Harder Than The Rock officially screened in UK cinemas in late 2024 -- this release is a must have for any reggae supporter.

Modern Eon -- comprising Alex Che Johnson (vocals/guitar), Danny Hampson (bass), Tim Lever (guitar and sax), Bob Wakelin (keyboards) and Cliff Hewitt (drums). By the end of 1981 Modern Eon disappeared as suddenly as they'd emerged, leaving fans with a glimpse of sonic, creative and production brilliance juxtaposing new wave, progressive and experimental. Some of the early material presented here provides the opportunity to hear Modern Eon in its early, developmental stage, as well as the innovative 45-rpm DinDisc, B-sides from the singles and, finally, one 1979 instrumental and three 1981 demos.
Official RSD 2025 UK Release. Exclusive collection of tracks from the Jamaican reggae singer and DJ Prince Jazzbo. These songs catapulted him to international fame, leading to a successful world tour. Upon arriving in the UK, Prince Jazzbo connected with me, that I was already making waves with artists like Louisa Mark, Owen Gray, Tappa Zukie, and Zabandis. Since then, copies of the single have been much sought after. Now, it is re-issued on vinyl, alongside "The Dub Extravaganza Part 1" and two newly commissioned of the re-edits of the Underworld mix by Leo Zero. MAL-ONE
Number 11 To The Worlds End LP
Official RSD 2025 UK Release. Contains: 12-page working script and film poster. From Mal-One: "Some time back just after then and before now, I was approached to work up a rough working script for a punk rock film, based on a boys entre into the whole punk arena and how it would affect his life. A loosely updated tale somewhere along the lines of a 'Punk Quadrophenia.' After many stop/starts and we are waiting for funding? etc, etc, and changing of ideas. I thought I better just get on with it. I worked up twelve tracks and put an opening script together for approval. Like some of the best made plans, as time moved on, so did the theme and the initial rush of enthusiasm rolled on to somewhere else. A shame but lurking in the back of Punk Art studios the tapes were found and a bent-up copy of the working introduction script. So here it is in all its rough and ready glory. Who knows what might have been but here is some of what could have been? hope you enjoy the idea."
RSD 2025 indie exclusive. After the Dead Boys, American punk legend Stiv Bators embarked on a musical journey that saw him touch upon power pop during a brief solo career. Following a reissue of Bators' classic album Disconnected, this compilation of rarities comprises alternative takes, B-sides and live recordings from this era when his music was more similar to '60s power pop than the vicious punk rock that Bators became known for originally. It includes a booklet with extensive notes by band member Frank Secich and rare photos. 180g vinyl. Bators was the man who destroyed Rocket from the Tombs, from which he hijacked half the members to found one of the most influential American punk bands to have existed, The Dead Boys. As the frontman for the Dead Boys, Stiv Bators terrorized audiences with his snotty, in-your-face punk rock style. Stiv moved to Los Angeles and signed with Bomp! Records, Greg Shaw's label that released many seminal '70s West Coast punk and power pop groups such as the Weirdos and the Zeros. This release features hidden gems that are a true step forward into another unknown arena packing all the glare and attitude that remained from the last. New generations continue to discover it. It still holds up very well and sounds as fresh and vibrant as ever.

Includes rare BBC recordings by British artists such as New Jazz Orchestra, Bob Stuckey and Terry Smith. Notes by Paul 'Smiler' Anderson. RSD 2025 indie exclusive. Limited edition 350 copies. Trash release new vinyl single "Matter Of Time." 47 years after their last single, cult rockers Trash are back! To follow their 1978 single "N-N-E-R-V-O-U-S," Trash present a freshly-recorded song "Matter Of Time" as a vinyl 7". A-side of the single is "Matter Of Time (Ballad Of Trash 13.07.24)," B side is "Matter Of Time (Tin And Tambourine version)." The drive, power and catchiness of the A side is reminiscent of The Clash's "Give 'Em Enough Rope" era, whilst the more mellow B side has a Ronnie Lane vibe. Said Alan Mair of The Only Ones "great tune, vocals and lyrics, and the guitar solo is right up my street. And I like the acoustic version as well." Trash never achieved the success predicted by the pop pages of The Reading Chronicle, despite being signed to Polydor and being produced by the late Shel Talmy (Who, Kinks) and Nigel Gray (Police, Siouxsie). Guitarist and songwriter Mick Brophy has produced a song that sends out a message of hope to ageing rockers of all haircuts. Drummer Simon Butler-Smith had not played for the last 38 years (kit stored at his mums) but recorded his parts in a single take. Vocalist Simon Wright has spent the lost decades making chocolate and is inexplicably an adviser to the government on organic food. The single is released on 7" vinyl by Rhythm And Blues Records. Label owner Nick Duckett has been a supporter of Trash since 1978, when he reviewed their appearance at his birthday party for the NME.

Tappa Records Showcase LP
Official RSD 2025 UK Release. This exclusive compilation showcases the very best of Tappa Zukie's productions from 1988 to 1994, featuring an all-star lineup of legendary Jamaican vocalists. Each track has been remastered and is available together on vinyl for the first time ever. Drawn to the allure of the "Rude Boy" gangs, Tappa was captivated by Kingston's thriving Sound System culture, where every neighborhood pulsed with music. It was in this vibrant environment that the young Tappa Zukie first began deejaying, quickly gaining recognition as a rising star in the dancehall scene. This early success solidified his deep connection to music, as he developed a sharp intuition for what the dancehall crowds craved. Over the next two decades, Tappa would find both fame and fortune as a deejay, but his influence reached far beyond the mic. He became known as a visionary producer, founding the Stars label, which became a platform for legendary artists like Prince Alla, Junior Ross, Horace Andy, and Knowledge, to name a few during reggae's golden age of the 1970s Roots era. By the mid-1980s, as Jamaican reggae evolved both in style and production techniques, Tappa responded by launching Tappa Records. This album is a carefully curated selection of ten tracks from Tappa Records, spanning the years 1986 to 1994. These ten tracks -- produced by Tappa Zukie -- highlight some of Jamaica's finest singers and deejays, and while the music reflects the shifting styles of Jamaican music at the time, the deep influence of Roots is unmistakable. Tappa Zukie and his talented array of musicians developed a sound that remains fresh even today, a testament to their creative vision. It has since become a reference for modern reggae producers, especially within the sound system scene, where Tappa's innovative work continues to inspire and set the standard for the next generation of reggae music. Featuring Yami Bolo, Frankie Paul, Brigadier Jerry, Dennis Brown, Max Romeo, Fatal Vibes, Johnny Clarke, U Roy, and Courtney Medody.

This is pure and quintessential punk rock.
THE KIDS
Naughty Kids (Splatter Vinyl) LP
RSD 2025 indie exclusive. Released a mere eight months after their groundbreaking 1978 self-titled debut LP, The Kids' second album is a pure masterpiece of straightforward punk rock. A little less raw than their previous material, but still far from the new wave sounds the band started experimenting with on their following records, Naughty Kids' remains one of the best examples of non-UK '70s punk and definitely a mandatory addition to the collection of any fanatic! This reissue also features five bonus tracks recorded live in 1978.
ACK ACK
Trouser Tricks (Red Vinyl) LP
RSD 2025 indie exclusive. Trouser Tricks was the unreleased debut album by West London punk band Ack Ack, formed in the Twickenham/Isleworth area in 1977. The album was recorded in 1980 at TW Music Studio, a small studio tucked away on Fulham Palace Road, capturing the raw, unfiltered energy that defined the band's sound. Despite initial interest from several record labels, including some major ones, the album was never officially released due to the economic recession and the growing belief that punk had run its course. These tracks provide a rare glimpse into a pivotal time in the local punk scene. Experience the lost sounds of Trouser Tricks today!
RSD 2025 indie exclusive. Erazerhead was a four-member band hailing from East London, active between 1980 and 1984. The lineup featured Lee on vocals, Jim on guitar, Gary on bass, and Billy on drums. During their brief career, they managed to release two albums along with several singles. Their sound was heavily influenced by the Ramones, capturing a similar energetic and raw vibe. Despite some thin production, their debut album's charm lies in its simplicity and authenticity, making it an enjoyable listen that evokes a sense of nostalgia. Rather than aiming to overwhelm, the band delivered a light, engaging sound that resonated with their audience, adding a playful twist to their music that kept listeners coming back for more.
THE DAMNED
I'm Alright Jack And The Bean Stalk (Color Vinyl) LP
RSD 2025 indie exclusive. The first British punk band to appear on vinyl, The Damned enjoyed unprecedented early chart success and influenced the hardcore punk and goth movements. 1996's I'm Alright Jack And The Bean Stalk (aka Not Of This Earth) was a real departure for the re-vamped band that defied easy classification; moving away from the punk and goth of the past, it found Dave Vanian, Rat Scabies, and guitarist Alan Lee Shaw channeling psychedelia, new wave and traditional rock, bolstered by pedigree supporters including organist James Taylor and bassist Glen Matlock of the original Pistols. A killer set of non-standard Damned jams -- get it now!
RSD 2025 indie exclusive. The hard-hitting album from Sweden's masters of punk-infused rock and roll, back on vinyl for the first time since its debut in 2006! A defining record of mid-2000s Scandinavian rock, this album captures the Backyard Babies' raw energy and relentless drive, cementing their legacy as pioneers of modern rock...
