Limited edition pressing of 500 copies worldwide. All pressed on cream colored vinyl, housed in a full color sleeve with leather effect laminate, with hype sticker and black polylined inner bag. Continuing Riot Season's quest to get all of the classic early AMT albums released on vinyl, the label now turns to 2004's Mantra Of Love with the help of Makoto Kawabata's studio wizardry. This latest instalment in the Acid Mothers Temple Vinyl Archives - First Time On Vinyl series has been meticulously put together with the help of Makoto Kawabata with the original CD artwork recreated for these vinyl editions from archive photos stored in the vaults at the Acid Mothers Temple in Osaka, Japan and the original audio remastered by James Plotkin. Here's what Pitchfork had to say upon its original CD only release back in 2004: "Acid Mothers are strong folk. You'd think they'd tire quickly, all tucked away on their island, strewn about on tree roots while baking their lungs and throats to a knotty green tinge. But instead of waltzing through life like hippies, they manage to not only tour and put out records every year, but also to fill those albums with 30-minute jams and assorted freakouts. And while evil jam bands would fill that space with guitar work taken from the Classic Rock Manual of Clichés, Makoto Kawabata and company assault listeners with frighteningly dense walls of white noise, psychedelic swirl effects and, yes, even guitar solos -- albeit ones that are more Merzbow or Keiji Haino than Gary Rossington. Truly, AMT's endurance and threshold for cosmic lashings are both worthy of admiration." Originally released on CD by Alien8 Recordings in 2004.

Japan's long running masters of psych/kosmische jamming return to Important Records for a vinyl outing featuring beloved original member Cotton Casino. This first edition is pressed in an edition of 500 copies. Trust Masked Replicants finds AMT in fine form, creating experimental psych-rock improvised around skeletal compositions. The group's leader, Kawabata Makoto, holds the group together while they navigate chaos infused, drone-based jamming at the outer edges of human consciousness. Side B, featuring the 20-minute track "Asoko Ananda," is a classic side-long fast paced AMT burner combining sped up kosmische rhythms, filter sweeps, free-jazz piano, tabla drumming and vocal experiments. "Asoko Ananda" utilizes many of the group's skills, ascending to the height of their collective, mountainous ability. Channeling prog, krautrock, modern composition and noise, Kawabata Makoto formed the Acid Mothers Temple in the early '90s. The group has gone on to release countless albums while touring the globe.

Third release in the "first time on vinyl" trilogy, following the quickly sold-out Pink Lady Lemonade - You're From Outer Space and Myth Of The Love Electrique. Here you have the band's classic 2007 double album, Acid Motherly Love, pressed on vinyl for the first time. Acid Motherly Love is another out-there ride through Acid Mothers' weird and psychedelic world. Guitars howl, riffs grow bigger with each minute and brains get fried along the way. Recorded under falling ash and burning roof tiles, Acid Motherly Love features every dimension of their legendary underground sound -- from wild riff heavy jams, to quieter acoustic passages and spoken monologues, all capped by the trance inducing 15 minute-plus epic "Santa Sanrodriguez". Fully redesigned sleeve complete with obligatory nudity. Transparent orange vinyl; gatefold sleeve; edition of 350.

Sun yellow vinyl; gatefold sleeve. Continuing the "first time on vinyl" purge of the Acid Mothers Temple archives. Here's the band's classic 2006 album finally available on double vinyl for the first time. Myth Of The Love Electrique is another scorcher from these ridiculously prolific psych masters. This album is notable for being the debut of their newest band member: Kitagawa Hao. Kitagawa's presence doesn't dominate the recording by any means, but her contributions nicely complement the swirling chaos the group generates. Acid Mothers Temple always manages to find a breath of fresh air at the most opportune times, and this is no exception. While remaining a tight unit, bringing Kitagawa into the fold adds another dimension to their chaotic sprawl without having to sacrifice any of their strengths on this incendiary album.

Nine years after its initial release in 2011, The Ripper At The Heaven's Gates Of Dark is back. The original black vinyl and CD editions sold out pretty quick, and have been a constant source of repress requests ever since. So, at Makoto's personal request here it is. It's definitely the best Acid Mothers Temple studio album from that short lived four-piece line up. With the exception of the album's opener "Chinese Flying Saucer" and it's unashamedly obvious musical references to Led Zeppelin II (hello 1969!) the rest of the album locks into a much more laid-back groove than on recent AMT releases. This dynamic shift is best displayed on the 22-minute jam, "Shine On You Crazy Dynamite" and also the album's closer "Electric Death Mantra". The band opt for less frantic explosions of electric guitar overload and fuzz, replacing those elements with a more epic, blissed-out and at times brooding Japanese psychedelia, with more emphasis on acoustic guitars, sitar, organ, synthesizer, and at times, really trippy vocals (most prevalent on "Back Door Man Of Ghost Rails Inn"), recalling the twisted psychedelics of early Pink Floyd. Yet still, their sound remains so expansive that it is easy to become totally immersed in this album. Epic in proportions, cloaked in a cosmic haze and shimmering in a synth utopia. The Ripper At Heaven's Gates Of Dark maintains AMT's status as masters of out-of-this-world music and reveals their darker side of the moon. Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. at the time of this recording: Tsuyama Atsushi - monster bass, voice, soprano sax, cimpo flute, soprano recorder, acoustic guitar, cosmic joker; Higashi Hiroshi - synthesizer, dancin' king; Shimura Koji - drums, Latino cool; Kawabata Makoto -electric guitar, electric bouzouki, sitar, organ, percussion, electronics, speed guru. Recorded at Acid Mothers Temple, Japan. Produced and engineered by Kawabata Makoto.

Limited edition black vinyl repress; includes download code; gloss finished 350gsm board sleeve; edition of 300. Way back in 2004, Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. released the CD-only album Minstrel In The Galaxy on Riot Season Records. The decision to make it CD only at the time was down to the epic title track being almost 42 minutes in length. Fast forward fifteen years and new technologies and Riot Season present the first-ever vinyl release of this classic album, with a new edited especially for vinyl mix by main man Makoto Kawabata. Here's what Riot Season said back then: "Minstrel In The Galaxy is the sound of the newly slimmed down four-piece AMT recorded in their smoke filled basement Studio in Nagoya during summer 2004. The sounds captured on these three tracks are the first post-Cotton Casino AMT workouts. The diminutive beer and cigarettes Goddess has upped sticks and moved to the USA to start a new life and plan her solo career. We'll miss her that's for sure but we can't worry about that now, AMT have another ten albums to lay down before New Year. The AMT line up for this album features the core trio of Makoto Kawabata (Guitar), Atsushi Tsuyama (monster bass), Hiroshi Higashi (guitar and effects) and new permanent drummer (and ex-Mainliner man) Hajime Koie (drums). The free jazz style drumming from Hajime has helped give AMT their sense of improvisation back, most of their work is improvised and recorded live to tape which gives that great loose feel they have that takes them off on tangents and makes each new record that little bit different from the last. And with this new studio album I think we can safely say it's something of a new direction. They're joined on this album by Japanese underground queens Afrirampo . . . Musically this album is a slight departure for AMT, anyone buying it expecting a head-melting riff heavy record are going to be disappointed. To these ears 'Minstrel In The Galaxy' sounds darker and more stripped down that any previous AMT release. The title track alone lasts a staggering 41 minutes, over the course of which the band take our heads in a few gentle directions before letting rip towards it's crushing finale." Color vinyl; includes download code; edition of 500.

"In 2016, 21 years after Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. were founded in Osaka, Japan, there was a major shift in the line-up and 'Next Generation' was added to the band's name. We now view the first 20 years of the bands career as chapter one in our story, and we are now turning the page to start chapter two. In 2018, it's time to re-record our classics with this new line-up, we just opened the door to the next stage!" --Kawabata Makoto, 2018
Twenty-four years into their existence, Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. have circled the globe at least a few dozen times, released over 100 albums in their various guises and played thousands of shows. In recent years, they've experienced seismic line-up changes which has given them yet another new lease of life... or a rebirth if you will. Original members Kawabata Makoto (guitar, speed guru) and Higashi Hiroshi (synthesizer, noodle god) are now joined by Jyonson Tsu (vocal, midnight whistler), Satoshima Nani (drums, another dimension), and Wolf (bass, space & time) and as anyone that has seen the new line-up live will testify, things have gone even more cosmic... Reverse Of Rebirth In Universe sees the band return to their old label Riot Season for the first time since 2012's IAO Chant From The Melting Paraiso Underground Freak Out (REPOSE 032CD/LP). Both label and band have gone on some wonderful journeys during that time apart but both felt the stars were finally correctly realigned to renew their partnership in all things weird. Long time AMT fans will immediately recognize some of the song titles listed on the album sleeve here. But the songs themselves have been reworked and transformed far away from their original versions. New boy Jyonson Tsu's quiet, almost whispered vocals bring a whole new aura to proceedings, despite the familiar riffs hidden in the depths below them. It's so laidback in places it's practically horizontal, with only occasional trademark piercing guitar squeals threatening to destroy the peace and calm. The whole of side two is taken up with the twenty minute epic "Black Summer Song"... and if this is an indicator to where the AMT mothership is heading going forwards we're all in for another fucked up and magical ride. Red vinyl; edition of 300.

For the first time on vinyl, Wandering The Outer Space marks a new period in the sound of the Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O., thanks to the incorporation of new members. Released on CD during the first South American tour of the Japanese masters of psychedelia, Wandering The Outer Space is released here on LP format. The band at the time of this recording were: Jyonson Tsu (voice, midnight whistler), Kawabata Makoto (guitar, bouzouki, fretless bass, organ, synthesizer, tapes, speed guru), Higashi Hiroshi (synthesizer, noodle god), Mitsuko Tabata (guitar, guitar-synthesizer, voice, kisses & hugs), Satoshima Nani (drums, another dimension), Wolf (bass, tapes, space and time), and Cotton Casino (voice, astral mama).
"Buh Records has injected kind of Krautrock-flavored exaggerated, sadistic, sexadelic speed addiction titled Wandering The Outer Space by legendary Japanese psychedelic rock band. Exactly as before, plenty of distorted, dissected guitar explosions by Makoto and Mitsuko (Mitsuru), violent, offensive, a tad gentle space-synthesizer blasters, and critical plus serious rhythm section-oriented spacequakes can be heard on a full stomach, veiled in a delightful sleeve with such a colorful, hyperdynamic pic upon it." --Keishiro Maki Progarchives

Restocked. Black Editions presents the deluxe, first-ever vinyl edition of Acid Mothers Temple's classic self-titled first album. Over the last 25 years no group has been more prolific or dedicated to pushing psychedelic rock to its limits than Japan's Acid Mothers Temple. Their maximalist technicolor vision was first revealed on this, their now legendary self-titled 1997 debut released by P.S.F. Records. Led by Makoto Kawabata, the album contains some of the group's most cosmic, hypnotic and over-the-top material; it kick-started and set the tone for a journey that has included countless releases and performances around the world -- a freaked-out trip that continues to this day. Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. is one of the essential albums of the world's psychedelic underground. Deluxe Edition housed in ten-color heavy tip-on gatefold jackets, featuring soft touch and spot gloss finishes and full color interior pockets. Includes full-color, spot glossed inner sleeves and a 24"x24", full-color poster. Remastered and pressed to high quality vinyl at RTI; Digital download included.

2008 release. Recorded at Acid Mothers Temple, in August and September of 2008. The first movement is called "Light My Fire Ball" and it seems like a groovy, modern vision of the electro-acoustic transgressions made by Can in "Augmn" and "Peking O", on Tago Mago. The atmosphere propels you into a mystic temple. The voodoo incantations by Atsushi is reminiscent of Damo Suzuki's wild voice. "Planet Billions Of Light-Years Away" reveals the theme of the six powerful notes (A-E-D-A-G-Db). Firstly calm and laid back, then energetic and fast, it is more and more powerful and nervous. The sound is great: part flood-in space guitars, part hooked by the catchy rhythms. But "Circular System 7777777", the third movement of this symphony for heavenly riffs, is completely new for Acid Mothers Temple. It is a kind of psychedelic dance song, with an old-fashioned drum machine, but it's so groovy, with reversed cymbals and sexy psychedelic breaks. The last chapter of Cometary Orbital Drive, called "Milky Way Star", is a masterpiece. The song is a kind of musical illustration of the hyper-space, an inter-sidereal rock trip. The tempo is panting, Makoto's soli are more beautiful than ever. The listening is shivering. These thirteen minutes are equal to the A side of the first Ash Ra Tempel record (1971). The booklet doesn't lie; these six-repeated-over-and-over-notes give bright and powerful sensations, with a krautrock purity that will make you dance to touch the stars. Cometary Orbital Drive is an essential record from the Soul Collective, one of those which mixes great stellar riffs, real grooves, inspired experimentations, and absolute cosmos. Presented in a three-panel digipak.

One of the best Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. albums, La Nòvia is an epic forty-minute rendition of an Occitan song by one of the best Japanese psychedelic noise-rock-folk band. This is a slowly evolving and drone-y album with many different and wonderful musical moments all leading to a glorious conclusion. A very cohesive and masterful record. This CD reissue includes a live version of "La Nòvia", recorded in New York in 2016, featuring Cotton Casino. Digitally mastered for the first time by Yoshida Tatsuya.

Limited 2022 restock; double LP version. Acid Mothers Temple - the next generation begins! With the departure of long time bass/drum duo Shimura Koji and Tsuyama Atsushi, AMT now have a new rhythm section featuring two young Japanese musicians, Satoshima Nani on drums and S/T on bass. Thus, Wake To A New Dawn of Another Astro Era is the first record in the second chapter of this legendary Japanese psychedelic rock group. Wake To A New Dawn Of Another Astro Era finds a rejuvenated Makoto Kawabata encompassing the best of what AMT has come to mean in the last twenty-one years. "Acid Mothers Temple's In Search of the Lost Divine Arc heads in a completely different direction from 2012's Son of a Bitches Brew.
