The Classic Guinean Guitar Group features instrumental recordings, made between 1970 and 1983 by the guitar-playing Diabaté brothers of Guinea, who, in various formations, led the African Virtuoses. These lush, intricate and lilting, their music carries echoes of Spain, Latin America and even the Paris of Django Reinhardt, yet its roots lie deep in Maninka traditions.
