APE 002EP

Steve Bug and Clé present All We Have, a no-nonsense, house EP. "All We Have" settles right into the groove with crisp and funky percussion, Chi-town chords and amazing vocal samples. In "She Cargo", thick, rubbery basslines, squiggly synths and firing percussion combine to deliver a suitable homage to the windy city. "Ape Parade" is built from some similar materials, but the chords are a little more lush and deep - synth strings and keys add a sense of the epic, and everything is tied together with a sick kick/snare/hat pattern.

APE 001EP

Steve Bug and Clé inaugurate their Apes Go Bananas duo project with the vinyl-only debut of their imprint of the same name. Dancefloor-rocking house music with a sense of fun and plenty of influence from the art form's golden age, opening with "Kerri On," which pays homage to Mr. Chandler's signature crisp drums and deep, jazzy chords. "Bananas" is more late-night; the driving 909 and dirty descending synth line evoke a sweaty warehouse. "Yeah You Know..." is a tightly programmed rhythm track with a shuffling breakbeat under a simple yet highly effective synth-line and a classic cut-up house vocal.
