Brian Brewster aka Aquarius Heaven presents Bato Chargé, his first EP on Circus Company since 2013's Parallela Mundi (CCS 076EP). In Brewster's native Haitian Creole, "Bato Chargé" means "Overloaded Boat"; with the Caribbean rooted in the history of displaced humanity, the groove of "Bato Chargé" takes on a defiant, hopeful tone directly inspired by the traditional percussive music style gwo ka, while lyrically dealing with the pressing issue of refugees escaping conflict, poverty, and famine. "50 Drops" takes on a noirish tone, while the digi-dub skank of "Marie Galante" plays off Brewster's roots in reggae and dancehall.

The collaboration between dOP's resident beatsmiths Damien and Clement is reignited, sending Brian's gravelly vocals in a myriad of directions that make for one of the most ambitious singles Circus Company has ever shared. "Slow Love" welcomes the legendary princess of electro, Miss Kittin, to inject her icy, new-wave vocals into a brooding, sensual repartee with Brian over the simmering, late-night stomp of the 4/4 beat. This EP sees dOP return to their hip-hop production roots without forsaking the dancefloor.
