Audision return with a slab of colored vinyl. They produced "Chimes 1" for live performance and their new synth Roland JD 800 sounded crystal clear in their studio, but when they practiced for their live set, it played a different sound. "Chimes 2" lets the machines do the talking. "Away" was the beat-less track from their last 12" Up & Away, and Gez Varley aka G-Man created a dancefloor monster out of it. Lastly is a rough and deep house mix from Christopher Rau. On light blue-colored vinyl.

Audision's Up & Away is two back-number tracks which were recorded four years ago. They had been searching for the right moment to release them up to now. In 2011, Robag Wruhme did an edit for the track "Yellow Sunset." As he played it during the summer, the reactions were amazing. Finally, he decided to combine these three tracks and release them together on this 12". On white vinyl with a postcard.

Hamburg's deep techno duo Audision returns with their first remix package of tracks off of Surface To Surface (AND 015CD). This first 12" comes with 4-to-the-floor tracks which will kick, but in a very smooth and warm way. Robag Wruhme delivers a heavy bass monster which throws you across the club. Roman Flügel's remix starts deep but will blow your mind and make you go mad. Last but not least, Smallpeople show their great love for deep house. Includes poster.

AND 015CD

This is the debut full-length release by Hamburg's deep-techno masters, Audision, for their very own And Music imprint. Bonding over a shared love of Basic Channel and classic Detroit techno, veteran DJs Niko Tzoukmanis and Tobias Schmid released their first Audision EP, Mean Curvature in 2001. A subtle, gorgeous blend of sharp beats and deep synths, Michael Mayer picked "Gamma Limit" from the release to appear on his legendary Immer mix for Kompakt, introducing the Audision sound to the wider world. Firmly believing in quality over quantity, Audision released only six EPs over the next few years, cementing their reputation as purveyors of subtle, melodic, delicate techno and rich, dub-tinged electronics. They quickly amassed a passionate following among DJs from a wide range of musical backgrounds, notably the legendary François K. Surface To Surface builds on the foundations laid by Audision's previous work, and is intended as a listening album as much as it is for the dancefloor. Available only on CD, lush tracks such as "Mind Journey" and "Industry Park" abandon the club completely, investigating instead the sensual ambience of second-wave Detroit electro artists like Drexciya. Meanwhile, straighter tracks like "Phase Flow," "Beta Range" and "Forty-One Spalding" reference the ghosts of Maurizio and Mark Ernestus, re-imagined in Audision's uniquely modern, sensitive style. It's the sound of the club that exists in the furthest corner of your mind, the fragments of classic techno that remain long after the party is over. Disappearing further from the dancefloor still, the album is interspersed with ambient moments of reflection, most notably on the beatless closing track, "Aurora," where Carl Craig-esque, timeless tonal beauty meets modern techno's pristine production in stunning, majestic style. While the major inspirations behind Surface To Surface -- Basic Channel, Detroit, Warp -- are clear, Audision's refined, unhurried sound is also entirely its own. By looking back, Audision are simultaneously pushing things forward, quietly, gently, and in their own time. It's the sound of high-end, deep frequency techno at its very finest. MULE 059EP
|
This is the second release by Hamburg-based producer Audision on Mule Electronic. The original version of "Avenger" is dark, Detroitish tech-house and Mark August (who has previously released on labels such as Cocoon, Connaisseur, Curle, and Innervisions) made a modern minimal house remix.

MULE 043EP
|
This is the debut single from Audision (Tobias Schmid and Niko Tzoukmanis) on Mule Electronic -- two very deep original tracks and a massive dance remix from Roland Appel. Audision has released several EPs on Playmade and have spent plenty of time behind the DJ booth spinning music that has influenced their collaborative sounds: Basic Channel/Deepchord-style dub tracks, deep Detroit techno, hi-tech funk, early acid house. Together they are Audision and they believe in deep sound structures.

"Once more, Niko and Tobias have switched on their equipment to produce another deep 4-track EP titled Forty-One Spalding. It concludes a period of three years in which these tracks have travelled between Augsburg, Frankfurt and Hamburg to finally find their way to black gold. 'Forty-One Spalding' is the youngest track on the record and was produced in order to mark the end of Tobias' long-lived flat-sharing community which was located at the Spaldingstraße in Hamburg. It opens the 12" with a lot of drive and touching harmony changes. The hands should go up by the moment when the hi-hats enter. 'Info View' is an introverted piece of music whose subsonic bass line builds up a lot of energy and keeps the tension until the end. The title of 'Drunk On Beauty' is a reference to a wonderful song by Butterfly Child but also reveals the influence of that bottle of beer. Driven by the latter, the two of them are cruising on slight old school paths from Chicago via Detroit to Cologne. Just wallow in the sunset or sunrise in the beautiful landscape of the Frankfurt area. Absolutely gorgeous!"

"Once more, the two guys from Audision took their time to develop their sound further. A1: 'Miles Away' the opener sonically describes the yearning for something that is far away. With clearly structured kicks and claps and continuously evolving string sounds, they create a tension which is released by a melancholic hookline and which spreads a feeling of endless ..... B1: 'Song of the Ccean' with their deepest track so far, Audision let the listener dive into an ocean of feelings. From the very beginning, breathtakingly deep frequencies create an organic sound, which despite its tranquillity and sensuality is characterized by enormous straightness and decisiveness."

"With 'Solid State', Audision have created a very deep, but also slightly poppy track. Precisely set hi hats pushing forward the track stand in contrast to dark strings and a pulsating looped sound, slowly broken up by a bassline that enters. With increasing power the track builds up and grows on the listener with its hypnotic beat. Particularly effective are those subliminal, biting strings slightly changing in colour, spicing up the other elements of the track and putting a spell on the listener. Quite a new approach for Audision, but of course not leaving way their typical flavour."
