2024 repress. "Released in 1956, 'Get Rhythm' is an upbeat number by Johnny Cash with positive lyrics speaking of a happy shoe-shine boy. While the song is classic, inimitable Cash, it would quickly become overshadowed by its B-side, 'I Walk the Line.' A peculiar song that changes key between each verse and has no chorus, 'I Walk the Line' would become the song Cash is best known for, a tale of pledged fidelity with lyrical undertones implying even deeper meaning. Rolling Stone magazine ranked the song at #30 in their 2004 list of the 500 greatest songs of all time."

Reissue, originally released in 1957. The iconic baritone country singer Johnny Cash sold over 90 million records, an incredible achievement for one who endured terrible hardship in the Great Depression, picking cotton with his sharecropper family from the age of five. After a spell in the Air Force, Cash settled in Memphis and with guitarist Luther Perkins and bassist Marshall Grant, known as the Tennessee Two, Cash pitched up at Sun Records just as Carl Perkins and Elvis were trying their luck, Cash's brilliant debut With His Hot And Blue Guitar containing all-time anthems like "Folsom Prison Blues" and his perky cut of "Rock Island Line". A must for all Cash fans. Clear vinyl.

The late, great Johnny Cash made appearances on the legendary radio and TV show broadcast out of Shreveport, LA in 1955, 1959, 1962, and 1963. Louisiana Hayride Recordings collects recordings from all of those performances. Though you know and love his studio hits, Cash was often at his best in front of a live audience and his performances here leave no doubt about that. With stunning performances from his Tennessee Two, the loose, humorous vibe of these recordings highlight Cash's best side. Absolutely essential.

Wax Love present a reissue of Johnny Cash's Blood, Sweat And Tears, originally released in 1963. Like many of Johnny Cash's albums from the late '50s and early '60s, Blood, Sweat And Tears is a concept album. This time around, for his 15th long player, The Man in Black sings a suite of songs about the plight of the working man. Featuring The Carter Family on backing vocals and longtime guitarist Luther Perkins, this is a killer album that features two classics he'd later record on the legendary Folsom Prison sessions ("The Legend of John Henry's Hammer" and "Busted"). Another classic from Johnny Cash.

2011 release. France's leading deejay in the early '80s Ding Dong (real name Alain Pourquier) puts together a selection of recordings from Johnny Cash. The sleeve artwork features a host of vintage photos of Johnny Cash in his prime.
On the Ding Dong series: For the series, he made visits to the hallowed Sun vaults in Memphis, Tennessee, where he listened to countless tapes, working his way through 1,228 outtake tape boxes and in the process selecting the best quality masters he could find. After listening to more than 11,000 tracks during February and March of 1983 and identifying a whole stack of unissued sides, he brought the master tapes back to England, where he embarked upon an amazing one-man re-issue program. Not only did he master all the recordings, he designed the sleeve artwork and wrote the sleeve notes. His excellent contacts amongst record collectors around the world enabled him to come up with a whole stack of rare artists' shots to use for the album artworks. The resulting albums, both various artists compilations and solo major artists, have over the years acquired iconic status and are now much sought after by fans of the ground-breaking Sun sound. Now lovingly restored, selected titles are being presented in their full original glory for today's vinyl buyers. They will be essential purchases not only for Ding Dong's fans seeking replacements for their worn-out original copies, but also for today's younger buyers discovering this exciting music for the first time. Remastered from the original tapes; 180 gram vinyl; old style tip-on cover.

Shortly after his arrival in Memphis and subsequent signing to Sun Records, Johnny Cash performed on KWEM radio, marking the very first radio performance for him and his group, the Tennessee Two. In this performance from May 1, 1955, the group is amped up, electrified, and absolutely stunning. Rounding out this LP are Cash's highly regarded 1960 and 1962 demo recordings.

"Although Johnny Cash recorded for many labels over the course of a career lasting nearly half a century, Sun Records--Johnny's first label--was the one that made him a star. His first No. 1 hit came in 1956 with 'I Walk The Line', followed by 'There You Go' later that same year. This LP is a selection of material Cash recorded for Sun during those early hit making years. Including 'The Ways Of A Woman In Love', a hit Cash took to no. 2 in 1958, and his version of 'I Forgot To Remember To Forget', the song that made label mate Elvis Presley famous in 1955." 180 gram vinyl with CD version.

"Originally released on Columbia Records, Johnny Cash's eleventh album, The Lure of the Grand Canyon, was unlike anything he had ever done before. Most significantly, it was not even an album of Cash's music, rather a concept album consisting primarily of American composer Ferde Grofe's Grand Canyon Suite. Cash gives his tribute to Grofe in the conclusive track, an eleven-minute spoken word piece about a day at the Canyon." On 180 gram vinyl.

"By the time this album was released in 1961, Johnny Cash had long-since left Sun Records for greener pastures. The album is therefore, a compilation of songs Cash recorded while still under contract with Sun-from his earliest recordings in December 1954 to his final session in July 1958. This is a classic collection from one of the most imposing and influential figures in country music. His deep, resonant baritone and spare, percussive guitar style will never be duplicated." On 180 gram vinyl.
