"Christian Death is an American gothic rock band formed in Orange County, California, in 1979 by Rozz Williams. Their 1982 debut album Only Theatre of Pain was highly influential in the development of the style of music known as deathrock, as well as on the American gothic scene. During this time legendary LA punk rock photographer Edward Colver befriended the band and shot Christian Death at a dozen of the band's concerts in the Los Angeles area during 1981 and 1982, as well as a shoot with the band at Rozz's family home which was later used for the album back cover of Only Theatre of Pain. Cult Epics presents the 40th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Christian Death: Only Theatre of Pain -- including an exclusive double vinyl of the original album with a bonus LP of demos and bonus tracks (in collaboration with Lisa Fancher of Frontier Records) and 24"x 24" folded poster, a 220-page coffee-table hardcover book (edited by Nico B) featuring rare archive photography by Edward Colver alongside exclusive interviews with surviving band members and others, a 24"x 24" folded poster -- and all housed in a deluxe hardcase slipcase."
