The Down Over EP showcases Click Box's multifaceted freshness. "Stop Down" takes cues from early acid house, playing with the framework to accommodate their own spacious sound design. "Last Day" is a low-down roller, with a sunken bass line and jabbing, processed vocals that keep the atmosphere dark. "Something Wrong" is a vocal number that unfolds in an alternate Italo disco dimension, and Madato's remix of "Something Wrong" flips and dissects the track for a deeper brand of robotized funk.

Brazilian techno duo Click Box lock you in on both sides. "Body Fall" is a dark, brooding track with exacting sound design principles. Abstract sound effects drop in and out on "Match 5." How pure, dark techno should be.

MINUS 077EP
|
On their second M_nus release of 2009, São Paulo DJs/producers Marco AS and Pedro Turra pick up where they left off with the roving bass and pumping rhythm section of "Wake Up Call." "Nebula" extends the party vibe with a funk-infused hi-hat pattern while a moody, throbbing bass pulse stalks the undergrowth. The tight interplay between the drum parts and bass patterns is a constant theme throughout these tracks, but it's the musical sensibility that really captures the imagination.

MINUS 073EP
|
São Paulo duo Click Box (Marco A.S., Pedro Turra) present their first M_nus EP, offering a refreshing return to a bygone era of classic instrumentals. "Berlin Shades" begins in a jittery minimal fashion, but soon dives much deeper. The cascading hook and in-your-face sci-fi synth motif add a sense of tongue-in-cheek drama to a dynamic arrangement. "Lost Road" features some low-slung interplay between a two-note bass line and a whiplash snare that dishes out a serious spanking.

ITEM 003EP
|
Click Box is São Paulo DJs/producers Marco As and Pedro Turra. Coupling retrospective beats and bass lines with big hooks, hypnotic melodies and constantly modulating synths, it's the perfect blend of past, present and future. "Sugar Pain" is low-key with stripped-down beats and arrangements. "Bass Tilt" presents a super-sparse 808 groove and rich vox-like effects and chord sequences. "Fun K Mouth" has warping synth riffs and vocal chants, while "Microgram" is full of tight rhythms and moody, mysterious synth pads.
