PSSSH 003X-EP
|
PSSSH 003x enlists a diverse range of producers to reimagine the labels third offering. DJ Plead, Huerta, and Aubrey all turn in stellar remixes along with two new remixes from Dauwd himself. DJ Plead kicks things off with his signature bass heavy sound on his version of "The Yuzer", setting a high bar for what's to come. Accompanying him on the A-side are a couple of cuts from label founder Dauwd. The first, "Electronic Live Mix" of "SpaceSamba" is inspired by Dauwd's live performance at Mutek 2022 while his "Deep Dub Mix" of "The Yuzer" could be some of his best work to date on the imprint. On the flip, Huerta houses up "SpaceSamba" which an excellent dancefloor ready remix and Aubrey rounds things off with a solid groove interpretation of "The Yuzer".

PSSSH 003EP
|
The third release from Psssh completes the trilogy of EPs from label founder Dauwd, with a cameo from Sied. Typically primitive, rhythmically intricate with a tubby feel, Psssh 003 is possibly the best one yet.

KOM 324EP
|
Dauwd delivers his third EP on Kompakt since 2014, and takes a detour from melodic techno in a direction that is most certain to appeal to the purist house heads. "Jupiter George" picks its way through the finest moments of early '80s disco, recalling what Metro Area accomplished in their brightest moments. "Ritter Sport" must be some celebratory reference to Dauwd's move to Berlin, but, more importantly, it's walloping fist-to-the-floor house track. You can't deny the Herbert-esque swing that pulses through this jam. "Take Four" is that sunrise serenade a dancefloor begs for to beckon in a new day.

KOM 317EP

London-based producer Dauwd presents his latest push into romantic psychedelia and deep electronic dance music. Enjoy two new cuts that will turn heads in the most gentle manner, displaying all the loving care for sonic detail and melodic bravura that already transformed this artist's former efforts into celebrated standouts. This new material sits comfortably between techno, house and UK bass styles, albeit with a seemingly growing flair for the straighter blends within the groove spectrum. This allows for an intensified focus on the various wondrous landmarks found in Dauwd's soundscapes, a highly imaginative and masterfully crafted exploration of undulating synth textures, soaring melodies and gripping percussion.

Dauwd's Kindlinn 12" is a lushly-orchestrated journey drawing on infectious rhythms and epic melodies. Three colorful cuts see him moving further away from the UK sound he's originally become known for and reinventing himself as a virtuoso of propelling house and romantic techno. Luminaries as diverse as Gilles Peterson, Caribou, and Nick Höppner have already sung his praise. The title-track started as a simple LinnDrum jam and evolved into an entirely different beast. "Lydia" presents yearning synths and gorgeous textures, but travels a steeper trajectory. "Rain Raker" was made almost entirely with a 303 and digs deep into its free-floating sequences layered upon a subtle pulse.
