Recorded in 1978, the instrumental El Poeta Del Ruido by Decibel could be labeled a prog album but don't expect it to sound anything like Yes! This is more in the spirit of Art Zoyd, Univers Zero, Henry Cow, Faust, and Gong, which is to say, quite experimental, a bit dark, complex, and generally highly-structured (though it's also sometimes deliberately disjointed). Classical instruments form an important part of the group's sound, but it is augmented by interesting sound effects and there are extended moments of space-y electronic exploration. Masterfully executed, this album is a compelling listen from beginning to end. Tracks include "El Poeta del Ruido," "Orgón Patafísico," "El Fin de los Dodos," "Manatí," and "El Titosco" and more.

Jay Fontaine aka DECiBEL comes correct with a powerhouse duo of techno-infused 140 bpm cuts. "Whirl" takes a giddying tone from the offset as its fast, percussive drum machine builds pace to militant and forceful effect like a turbo-charged, mid-'90s Richie Hawtin cut, re-imagined by fresh ears. "Poke" retains the techno-retro themes of "Whirl," layering up the percussive parts to dramatic effect as acid lines flit and flirt around them. Both sides are wonky, woozy techno cuts bursting with strange energy.

The band were influenced by European acts like Magma, Faust, Henry Cow and also by Avant-Garde composers like Pierre Henry, Kagel, Stockhausen. In 1978 they recorded their masterpiece 'El Poeta Del Ruido' which is considered by many as a Masterpiece. They evolved then into Nazca and only in the 90's formed back. The box set features a 28 pages booklet in a thick carton box with three CD's (Each more then 74 minutes).
