Double LP version. In 2016, 25 years after Andreas Krüger's Der Dritte Raum debuted on Sven Väth's Harthouse/Eye Q label, Krüger locked himself in his studio to create Electric Friends, an album that marks a shift toward pop following the 2015 Aydszieyalaidnem album (DDR 011CD/LP). On Electric Friends, Krüger's approach is to create a meeting place for techno rhythms and sonic experimentation from the perspective of the dancefloor, and a song-friendly one at that. Befitting the club setting, the tracks are long, but they're crammed with interesting stuff. This album is not a clinical exercise in the textural possibilities inherent in static; Der Dritte Raum tracks pop hooks and disco beats, and he even throws a couple of trance-influenced tunes into the mix. Opener "Electric Friends" is a brilliant tune with an extremely catchy lead synthesizer melody underpinned by a sharp electronic backing. The track is suitably catchy without ever approaching raucousness. Electric Friends reflects the wide range of Krüger's musical interests, and there are some homages. "Command Line" has the odd distinction of being a Front 242-influenced track (in terms of beats and synths). "Wasserstoff" is laid-back, starting with house chords before getting noisier. Up-tempo, danceable instrumental techno dominates the album, but the detours are frequent enough to make Electric Friends work as a varied, complete document of feel-good body music.

When it comes to electronic and techno music, there are few cities that have conserved and upheld the foundational roots laid by its pioneers more so than Berlin. One of central figures in this city's movement is the inimitable Der Dritte Raum, led by Andreas Krüger. Aydszieyalaidnem is Krüger's follow-up the 2013 release Morgenland (DDR 007CD), and it takes a step away from the melodic and harmonic forms of previous works, presenting a more club-oriented sound. Bathed and soaked in a warm Berlin studio setup, Aydszieyalaidnem draws on Krüger's formative influences of electronic club music, relying on hardware programming and sequencing to deliver rattling, sharp percussion that cuts through simple melody lines and low-slung grooves. From house to techno, from human- and machine-created rhythms to sweet voices and warped vocals, from blissful melodies to mind-twisting grooves, Aydszieyalaidnem is a work of deeply absorbing, multi-dimensional electronic fusion -- a typical Der Dritte Raum trademark soundscape.

After Der Dritte Raum's album Morgenland (DDR 007CD) kicked up a lot of attention in 2013, it was only a matter of time until the right remixers for the album were found. No less than four amazing producers of today's electronic music scene were allowed to have their way with these tracks, and the results are more than fitting. This 12" features four powerful club tracks from four outstanding remixers: Swayzak, Cavaan, Lars Wickinger and Franz Noiser.

The Der Dritte Raum label presents the second 12" EP from its latest album release Morgenland (DDR 007CD). Andreas Krüger once again steps up to deliver the goods. And with his cutting-edge collection of dirty little machines, he certainly proves to have his finger on the pulse of contemporary dance music. This is a solid and compelling follow up 12" that represents a sound which is not only sweeping the charts, but lies somewhere in between techno and house.

Der Dritte Raum dispenses with the pleasantries and hammers the sound-system with his 12" named Doppeldecker EP from the upcoming album Morgenland. What comes out is an artful and smartly grooving four-to-the-floor bass drum track in a state-of-the-art "Der Dritte Raum style." All four tracks will conquer the hearts of connoisseurs and surely please the new tasteful modernists as well.

This is the 13th full-length release by producer Der Dritte Raum (Andreas Krüger). His discography is as stunning as the list of his live appearances. There's not a soul with the slightest interest in electronic music who has never danced to a track by this extraordinary, talented producer. He's one of the few that has truly created his own signature sound. Krüger's trademark is his excessive use of hardware instruments in the studio as well as during his live performances. For his new output, he recorded live drum sessions, and a clarinet player and a bunch of vintage instruments are used -- like black holes, they suck in and spit out the most varied influences. What is so memorable about these 13 new tracks is the way they strike the perfect balance between studio experimentation and groovy techno without ever breaking stride or losing focus. The selection conveys a palpable deepness, occasionally harboring a touch of melancholy, yet never becoming overwhelming. There's nothing brash or over-blown here -- all the real action is nestled between the beats -- while the grooves he concocts are all so earthy and raw that the kick-drum functions as an alternative rather than a necessity.

Together with Index ID, Andreas Krüger forms the producer duo Der Dritte Raum. On the A-side, we see Toby Dreher, who created a great and perfect DJ tool that has enormous power on the dancefloor. Dominik Eulberg and Gabriel Ananda are established artists and convince the rest of the community with their remix of "Trommelmaschine." B2 is reconstructed by co-pilot Index Id. His "Playlove Mix" is deep and beautiful and has been produced with awesome effect.

Der Dritte Raum is back -- and this time, it's not only with new sounds but also with a new label platform: Der Dritte Raum Records. This release is fresh and dreamy, with four tracks full of groove, warmth and the distinctive Der Dritte Raum-funk on board. On this release, Andreas Krüger proves he has a firm hold on his analog machinery -- as always -- but also shows his connection to contemporary machine music as well as Krautrock and psychedelic sounds.

Der Dritte Raum is a super project at constant altitude flight. Releasing music on labels such as Harthouse and Cocoon since the early '90s, Der Dritte Raum has established a name for high quality electronic music. With their überhit "Swing Bop" in 2008, Der Dritte Raum kicked off an ongoing roaring '20s-hype in the electronic music scene in Berlin. T.Raumschmiere turns this track into a dirty, wrecking rave monster and Acid Pauli made "Swing Bop" even more dreamy.

Der Dritte Raum is back, and it's hard to believe that it's been 16 years since Andreas Krüger released his first album on Harthouse, followed by five more albums and countless 12"s on various labels. With his seventh album Rosa Rausch, Andreas has released another one of his typical musical kaleidoscopes. His distinctive grooves last from the first to the very last bar of the record -- sometimes brisk, sometimes subtle; he knows how to fascinate his audience. His deep love for hypnotic arrangements and entrancing synth-lines -- derived from the classic machines of the last century -- exudes from every moment of this album. Still, the tracks don't fit the usual labels. The impact of two decades of house and techno merge with solid ambient sounds, electro and swing into a genre-busting amalgam full of musical surprises. Andreas exquisitely manages to transfer day-to-day inspiration into distinct musical positions. Wonderful moments come out of this vintage machinery: pounding and hissing like a steam train, title track "Rosa Rausch" gains momentum on this trip into the countryside. Beats jingle cheerfully like ice cubes in a highball glass. Summery synths convey a feeling of sand beneath your toes. Two other tracks, "Lieblingsloop" and "Blautaut," also have this spirit of the summer; with a feeling of effortlessness and of the sun shining on your face, the music takes your hand and draws you to the dancefloor. That's where "Swing Bop" is already waiting to put a smile on all our faces. Der Dritte Raum has other sides to him, too. "Gerät außer Kontrolle" lets loose a crazy percussion session, a worthy reference to old school techno. Soft and warm, the album comes to an end; the descent begins with "Kleine Freiluftschleife," on "Weitwelt," we take one last round through the orbit in our little spaceship and dreamily look at Krüger's sound universe. At the "Landungsbrücken," the pilot finally drops us off. We stay on the bank for a little while, relive those manifold images of our journey and enjoy the evening sun on our faces. Life's good.

Der Dritte Raum wants you to feel the sun shining in your face and grooves rolling through your hips. Pounding and hissing like a steam engine, "Rosa Rausch" gains momentum out of the city and into the country. Krüger's beats jingle cheerfully, like ice cubes in a tall drink, and his synths buzz away happily. By contrast, "Gegentakt" sounds like taking the Autobahn right back into the midst of autumn, reminding us that darkness also has its charm.

"Almost 2 years since his last album on Virgin and never ending international touring Der Dritte Raum is back on business. Recently working hard on the final album mix, preparing his new life sets and seeking his new musical path we're more than proud that Andreas decided to work with us at Resopal. With his characteristic taste for thick drums and analogue synths, Andreas builds a more minimal peak time album, where warm becomes hot and moving becomes thrilling. It's certainly different from typical Der Dritte Raum sound but if the bassline comes in you can easily hear Andreas Krueger's trademark flavour behind those pumpin' drums."
