Ferrum is a large-scale exploration of inharmonic timbres, oscillating between brutal grinding textures and intricate percussive singularities, created by digitally transforming recordings of various metallic objects. Susanne Kirchmayr's new album takes a close personal look at the spectral richness of iron and other metals, in various shapes and sizes, recorded, processed, and arranged to a carefully curated selection of musical miniatures. Some of the results are an obvious nod to her Electric Indigo DJ alias, music that could be played on the dancefloor of an alien cargo ship, both highly familiar and foreign at the same time. Others offer almost steady-state like meditative qualities, vibrations from deep within, on a sub atomic level, full of light and motion on the tiniest possible scale. The limitation in material opens up a seemingly unlimited world of colors and rhythms, oscillating, resonating, and highly immersive. Mastered by Rashad Becker. Artwork by Tina Frank.

5 1 1 5 9 3 is the first full-length album release of Vienna-based artist Electric Indigo, who started DJing in the late 1980s, worked at the legendary Hard Wax record store in the early 1990s, and effortlessly manages to entertain the dancing crowd at Berghain as much as the contemporary music avant-garde at Wien Modern. 5 1 1 5 9 3 combines influences of both worlds into a consistent and coherent album. Crystalline metallic objects collide, embedded into fractured endless spaces, sparse rhythmical syncopations shaping grids, holding sonic particles in place. Rare vocal transformations inject a human touch. 5 1 1 5 9 3 offers a unique universe, full of color and light, partially flirting with current club music and at other times diving deep into sublime sonic areas. Cover artwork by Snc. Mastering by Rashad Becker. CD version comes in a digipack; 4C print with solid color; Includes liner notes.

INDIGO 005EP

"Here comes the second part of Reworks that Electric Indigo's friends in electronic music made from the tunes of six-track EPs 1 & 2. The master of throbbing techno-funk, Thomas Brinkmann, delivered a most intense 7 minutes rework of 'Blackcurrant' weaving the original track into his music that this time sounds like a fierce jam session, making elements drift within the flow and thus creating his own specific kind of magnetism. Miss Kittin herself turned 'The Puzzle' into a rough and stomping beast featuring mesmeric qualities and an undeniable Detroit influence -- remember jit? In this (her second) remix Caro makes clear where she comes from: Techno as the boldest musical style that relentlessly pulls you on the dancefloor. Finally, to close the circle of six-track reworks, it's Acid Maria's turn -- Indigo's favorite DJ-partner. She chose to work with Steril and they team up as 'Schönholz' to produce a resilient electro remix of 'Traum'. Miezi enriches this vigorous track with French vocals and shows her love for oldschool 808 cowbells..."
