A rare Deep Purple-related release. Wainwright's Gentlemen were a fixture on the West London club and pub scene throughout 1964 and 1965. The tracks featured here were cut at Jackson Sound Studios in Rickmansworth in February 1965 with Ian Gillan and Ann Cully on vocals. A later incarnation of Wainwright's Gentlemen included future members of The Sweet, Brian Connolly, Frank Torpey, and Mick Tucker. Mid-1965, Ian Gillan joined Roger Glover in Episode Six and he was still with them two years later when they recorded these two tracks for German TV.
