"I've been listening to more music than usual lately, just trawling the internet for weird stuff. I usually shut myself off from most current things when I'm working on a record... I've always been totally turned off by the idea of owning expensive/high-end equipment... Glaive was started with a couple of kick drum sounds I'd made on the SH-09. I've always loved the idea of using quite 'crap' sounds and putting them in the context of a proper track." Nathan Fake continues to ignore convention with an EP that is singular and striking from just about any perspective.

Double LP version with download coupon. Nathan Fake returns with an exuberant new third album -- a breathtaking landmark on his road to musical maturity that he has rightly branded his "best work to date." Crowning a decade of deftly-executed production versatility, Steam Days oscillates effortlessly between both ends of the electronic spectrum to unify both the soothing melodic indulgence and heavy dancefloor assault of Fake's albums of yore. Nostalgically immersing himself in his Norfolk heritage and the delicious analog richness of his beloved collection of vintage tape machines, Steam Days is the visceral translation of the innately musical producer's instinctive technical mastery into an astounding idiosyncratic musical reality.

"Straight out of the Norfolk countryside, 22 year old Nathan Fake is a most unlikely saviour of electronic music. His debut album Drowning in a Sea of Love is a truly enchanting collection of rocktronica at its finest -- loaded with Casio riffs, soaring fake-guitar lead lines, single live take recordings and a heap of lighters-in-the-air moments. Containing the original live take of the psychedelic epic 'The Sky Was Pink' (prior to its remix transformation into the electro anthem of last summer), this is a ballsy, gutsy eleven track wall of computer-noise, underlined by a rock-solid production ethic which belies Fake's tender years. Who needs a full band anyway? Homegrown UK talent like Nathan Fake doesn't come along every day, and it is little wonder that he is one of so many people's 'Tips for 2006': a true breath of fresh air in a dance scene desperately seeking direction."

Dominik Eulberg & Michael Mayer remixes. "After the success of the original 'Dinamo' by Nathan Fake, Traum presents the remixes. Both are different in style from the original track and different in their original version, Dominik Eulberg created a dynamic rhythm monster out of the very universal and genre breaking 'Dinamo,' a track which has started up a discussion worldwide of what the track reminded people of. A magic seems to be connected with the track and so it seems very hard to remix this opus. On the other hand, the euphoria over the music has solved this problem quickly. Dominik Eulberg has taken the track to a stage which is more Chicago than London, pumping up the rhythm section, seeming to go nowhere than into the clouds of the fog on the dancefloor... the pounding beats of the night in the blood of a person who loves to play the big floors. Other than that we see on the flipside Michael Mayer with his elegant and pop-fed deep mix of 'Coheed,' highlighting that wonderful track in a new light and strengthening the value it deserves rather than being the small brother of 'Dinamo' for the rest of its life. The track seems to be now an independent track, with a quality of its own with other values! Michael Mayer plays with the beauty, melody and deepness of 'Coheed.' Enjoy the Traum-ride!"

"Who does not know 'The Sky is Pink' on Border Community by Nathan Fake? An epic without comparison. Since then he has constantly released fabulous records on that label. Traum was very delighted to receive a demo by Mr Fake and instantly agreed on an EP. For our label Traum, that is running for seven years, highlighting melodies and grooves in one cosmos it is a natural progression to take on an artist that has similar ideas but fuses them in a universal and delicate manner. The 12 minute long epic track 'Dinamo' to speak with the words of Nathan Fake is one of the best 'house' tracks he has done so far. Still quite electronic and more than that, it is as hypnotic as the movement of a snake and is comparable to the best of Mathew Johnson's tracks around. On the flipside Nathan Fake has recorded an true acid track with tricky bits a 303 cannot by itself and a track where he sings on and which highlight a bit of the spirit of the a-side in a deeper state of mind."
