Reissue. 1972 debut album by cultish Japanese combo. This unbelievable psychedelic/progressive rock band came together the same year after Shigeru Narumo and Hiro Tsunoda shelved their project Strawberry Path (they had a sole album release in 1971 and eventually a 7"). Their sound is pure adrenaline, a stormy, hard blues kinda thing, with heavy Hammond organ riffs and more than a freakbeat influence. Partially informed by contemporary British bands, like Deep Purple or Uriah Heep, they opened to more gentle and sophisticated arrangements in the soulful ballad "I Love You" with an epic string section. The hypothetical single "Plastic Fantasy" could have been an alternative dancefloor classic with that Traffic/Brian Auger feel in the end.

Gatefold LP version on 180 gram vinyl. This is the final album from the band founded by George Yanagi, formed after the disbanding of Strawberry Path after only one astonishing album. Good Bye, originally released in 1972, brings together a live first side bursting with highly energetic, guitar-based loud rock. The studio side is a more sophisticated and progressive affair, with the complex and instrumentally-inspired "521 Seconds Schizophrenic Symphony" being of a particularly high standard. An album sure to appeal fans of '70s hard rock with marked progressive tendencies. Features killer Hammond organs and drums from Hiro Tsunoda (Foodbrain, Yasumi No Kuni).

Japan's proggers Flied Egg, consisting of former Strawberry Path alumni Shigeru Narumo and Hiro Tsunoda, supported by former Brush leader, Masayoshi Takanaka, released two albums in the early '70s, Dr. Siegel's Fried Egg Machine being the first and undoubtedly the better of the two. Dr. Siegel's..., originally released in 1972, is a much more keyboard-oriented affair, with Narumo adding a Moog, celeste and harpsichord to his usual Hammond and piano line-up. On this album, the musical influences are more Uriah Heep than the previous Hendrix-inspired leanings, although touches of Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Deep Purple, Birth Control and even Black Sabbath find their way into the musical mèlange. Dr. Siegel's... presents a rich selection of musical styles, culminating with "Guide Me To The Quietness," a glorious prog epic that brings an inventive and enjoyable album to a climactic finale. Digitally remastered. 180 gram vinyl pressing housed in a gatefold sleeve.

Part of a new Universal Japan 70s rock reissue series, called Naked Line. Legit issues, from masters, midline pricing. The 2nd and last album from Flied Egg, also originally released in 1972 on Japanese Vertigo. It's a theoretical live album, with a miraculously heavier "rockin" sound than Dr. Siegel's Fried Egg Shooting Machine. Number of tracks with the word "woman" in the title? A mere one. But don't let that lessen the sensational experience of your your brain cells slowly killing themselves off one by one as this stoner-magnet spins in your player.
