FIRM 021EP
"'Good Evening' (Dirk Leyers Mix): Dirk snatched the track of Geiger, disappeared a few days for fishing and came up with something that strongly feels like the sea at night. He starts the track with a heavy and riding bass-woom-beat and adds more and more atmospheres and rhythm elements until you have forgotten where you are...but lost in that wonderful track. 'Good Evening' (Geiger Mix): An absolute new production of that theme -- and Geiger is doing his thing: A guitar pop song from the first league. And just because the majors are sleeping, it now appears exclusive on Firm. 'Good Evening' (Supermayer Mix): A 12-min epos for enthusiasts of deep club music. Multi-layered waves with accurately placed and affectionate hi-hats and dance sounds. Michael Mayer and Superpitcher transform the original track from Geiger into a movie full of atmospheric changes, which make this track timeless."

FIRM 001CD
Cologne-based Alexander Geiger presents his debut full-length album Out of Tune, a bizarre mix of different musical styles. Citing inspiration from Justus Kohncke's Doppelleben, Out of Tune mixes different musical influences from Abba to Chic, Inner City to Glen Campbell, creating a unique sound -- already known from his EP "Made In Home." With a hybrid of psychedelic rock sound and trash-punk, hippy folk and Detroit techno, Geiger sets himself no boundaries. He plays the bass and the guitar, sings and pops, crackles and cuddles, covers and mixes, pinches and invents, until every single drawer has been opened and closed again. With minimal equipment and maximum will, a promising hit torpedo was created at Geiger's home studio. With Out of Tune Geiger creates his own soundtrack, all that is missing is the appropriate movie.

"Geiger, who is based in Cologne, Germany, presents with his new album Out Of Tune a bizarre mix of different musical styles. Confusing? Not at all, his way of mixing different musical genres such as rock, funk, techno, R&B and folk creates a unique sound -- already known from his EP Made In Home. With a hybrid of psychedelic rock sound and trash punk, hippy folk and Detroit techno, Geiger sets himself no boundaries. He plays the bass and the guitar, sings and pops, crackles and cuddles, covers and mixes, pinches and invents, until every single drawer has been opened and closed again. TEILE 001EP
"Teile is a new techno label based in Cologne, Germany -- founded by Thomas Schaeben, Heiko Voss and Alexander Geiger -- the idea is to split the harder techno-club-DJ-tools from Firm to give them their own platform. The people behind Teile Schaeben & Voss have released four 12"s on Kompakt and made remixes for several artists like Skua Lovelle, Peter Licht and 2raumwohnung. In 1999 they founded the label Firm, on which they have already released 12 records. Alexander Geiger, known for his remixes for Heiko Voss and Dorau/Köhncke on Kompakt Pop and Stella, had his solo debut with Firm 07 and 08, which is still spinning the clubs.

"Our man in Hamburg, Alexander Geiger, already well-known for various remixes on Kompakt, now releases his solo debut on Firm: 'Made in Home' -- two 12"s at once, each including 5 tracks. Geiger plays the bass and the guitar, sings and pops, crackles and cuddles, covers and mixes, pinches and invents, until every single drawer has been opened and closed again. With minimal equipment and maximum will, a promising hit torpedo was created at Geiger's home studio, also featuring labelmates Schaeben & Voss and Firm-word-machine Schadprivat."
