TURBO 177EP
Brussels-based duo GoldFFinch (chosen by DJ Mag as "Ones To Watch Out For 2016") follow debut releases on Valence and Exit Strategy, a feature on Innervisions' Secret Weapons series, and remixes for electronic music pioneers The Black Dog and Black Devil Disco Club with Proliferation. "Proliferation" is a versatile, understated club weapon, expertly building and releasing tension without resorting to obvious rises or superfluous tricks. "Shape" adds the claps-on-kicks jack without losing the hypnotic vibe. "For Future Use," which Warp legends The Black Dog remix to close it out, nods to the Warp legends with synth lines that recall old-school Warp electronics.

TURBO 159EP
Belgian duo GoldFFinch finish off Turbo's latest series with three prime cuts of springy warehouse thumpers. Gaining the support of Loco Dice, Phil Kieran, Sinden, Djedjotronic, Mary Anne Hobbs, Claude Von Stroke, and Jackmaster, there's a definite spectral glimmer of rave throughout the tracks. The winding, hypnotic synths on "Stronghold" evoke, or rather, produce trance, the arpeggio and brief vocal sample on "Bis Repetita" are distilled tropes of an era. The palette on "Europa" goes even deeper into the shadows, a proper trip-out, heads-down, shoegaze tool that finds its center in the ominous, bassy pad that thunders into the mix, vaguely recalling jungle.
