ROMAN 004EP
|
Early love by: Mousse T, Tensnake, Robert Owens, Mijk van Dijk, Hot Since 82, etc. Ken Hayakawa's new Romancity installment is another great example of the deep and melodic sound that is significant to the Vienna producer. This record also includes an excellent remix bomb by fellow Vienna friends Ogris Debris. "Take 1" is a nice and soulful track with a refreshing beat and deep synth-play. Ogris Debris' interpretation is even more uplifting. "Interlock and Relax" is a track that goes way beyond the club and its moody bass, and Born to Be Alive" could have existed 15 years prior but still doesn't lack house freshness.

"In these days of networking, where all communication is done online, it's pretty amazing that some contacts are still made in the old fashioned way: off course we don't want to dream of getting back to the old days, but we like it that way. The release of this record came across after a nice dinner in the charming Vienna. The ambivalence between Vienna's charm and his morbidity is perfectly shown in the works of Ken Hayakawas. Each track is under the influence of at least those two powers. The suspension of energy in the deep inside ensure that tension and pleasure float down the track without any particular hassle. Luscious tension."
