HELLO 002EP

"Having already stunned with mad versatility on his recent 3-tracker for new upstart label Hello? Repeat, Heartz4 aka Daze Maxim, proves again that he's got way more tricks up his sleeve and won't be easy to pin down. Here he surprises a new totally stripped down to his bare soul with his fragile, bluesy vocals slightly sustained by a fingersnapping groove and caressed by gentle soundeffects -- time to cuddle up on the floor. Philadelphia's minimal house stalwart and co-founder of Tuningspork and Foundsound records' Someone Else lowers the temperature a bit putting some more weight on the skanking groove, distorting the vocals, draining them puddles of echo and showering them with groaning sounds thus injecting a feel of paranoia and loneliness, truly emotional stuff."

HELLO 001EP
|
Debut release on this new minimal electronic label, hotly tipped in Philip Sherburne's recent overview (The Minimalarkist's Cookbook). "This summer has already seen plenty of interesting new label starts and the thrilling new Hello? Repeat from Hamburg makes no exception. Hello? Repeat is run mutually by Jan Kruger (Moon Harbour) and Daze Maxim who also contributes the tracks for their premier release. After successful productions on labels like Cocoon, Harthouse, and Serial Killers Haircut with 'Bad Heroin..." Daze hits a slightly different tonation to his very unique style which is specially underlined by releasing it under a new alter ego: Heartz4. The definite and original house three tracker starts with 'eap dip deep jeep,' a pure dancefloor shaker with crispy beats, quirky sequences, funky vocals and a catching hook doing the job. 'With a touch of prince class some do fine' continues right there and 'veritablebuck' is yet another driving stomping minimal track that will rock and rock...repeat...definitely."
