CURLE 063EP
|
Italian duo Hiver present Air Castles EP. "Elipse" is a stunning four-minute track that nods to avant-garde artists such as Wolfgang Voigt's GAS alias or Brian Eno, as the pair gradually weaves several layers of shining, atmospheric tones before slowly fading into the background. "Air Castles" follows with the tight selection of drums combined with the ebb-and-flow of soaring synths. "Aleutine" is a song that similarly blends Hiver's characteristically ethereal, hazy synths alongside more vibrant analog bleeps. Deep-groover "Leisure" sees Hiver up the tempo through their clever use of percussive elements, sharp synths, and headstrong drums.

CURLE 058EP
|
The dynamic duo Hiver return with their third EP for Curle Recordings, Soundescence EP. The title track displays the melodic, psychedelic sound Hiver have been praised for previously. Delicate synth patterns perfectly bled with the understated drums and percussive elements. This ethereal approach to techno continues on the following deep-groover, "One More Snooze". "Phonotis" immediately breaks the silence with a steady 4/4 rhythm, seeing a squelchy synth bassline, warm pads and floating atmospheric textures scattered throughout the six-minute number. "Floor Diving" once again showcases Hiver's sleek and seductive style of dance music that is made for dark, underground clubs.

Hiver hold a residency at Milan's Dude Club, and have played everywhere from Dimensions Festival to Panorama Bar. First pressing on white vinyl.

"Hiver's demo reached me shortly after I had bought their debut release on Vidab. I immediately fell in love with the analog-sounding deep techno of the Italian duo and asked one of my favorite producers to have a go at one of the tracks. Tobias. (Freund) totally nailed it, again. A very atmospheric piece that fans of Convextion/E.R.P. should definitely check out." --Curle Recordings
