Third single from the IMPS (aka Minilogue & Decoy) remix album (MULE 014CD). Remixed Vol. 3 features a Move D remix that is boogie deep house-style. He raised the bpm a little bit and made a DJ-friendly version. The Thomas Fehlmann remix sounds like a re-edit version of the original, rather than a remix. Psychedelic and deep as always.

Riding the success of their brilliant debut full-length Bring Out The Imps, IMPS return with a collection of exclusive remixes from their favorite artists making electronic music today. For the uninitiated, IMPS are the collaboration between super-duo Swedish producers Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson aka Minilogue (of Cocoon, Traum, Crosstown Rebels and Wagon Repair fame) and Decay, the Australian multi-instrumentalist duo of Ian Chaplin and Philip Rex. Together they came up with one of 2008's most innovative albums which earned global critical praise. To categorize IMPS would be blasphemous; however, Popmatter effectively reviewed their album as being "slowed-down techno grooves provid(ing) a firm, dubby foundation for blissful Rhodes melodies and earthy double bass." Simply titled Remixed, this collection brings together a group of today's most influential electronic music producers, joined together by the beautiful musicianship of Bring Out The Imps. Legendary producer Thomas Fehlmann hits things off with a re-edit, hitting all the right buttons with a psychedelic depth that is reminiscent of his work with The Orb. Strategy (Community Library, Orac, Dreck) take a very jazzy, downtempo approach on "Get A Grip," and Move D -- one of today's most buzzed-about house producers -- keeps his reputation for impeccable, loop-drenched groove by bumping up the BPM a bit and adding a scent of Detroit's deep-house vibe. Isolée makes a rare appearance in his signature swinging flow with a playfully rhythmic remix. Jan Jelinek is a man of mood and atmospheric grace, creating a highlight remix reminiscent of the work from Gas, which eases and builds along in delightful loops of saxophone and a thudding undertone which gives an organic breath to the music. Japan's deep-house leader Kuniyuki under the guise of Koss follows with a gorgeous remix that sways between pop-ambient melancholy and trippy heroin-house. Finally, IMPS members Minilogue take their own jab at remix duty, pulling together yet another epic tech-house anthem to add to their already long-adored collection of dancefloor raisers.

This is the first single from the forthcoming IMPS remix album. On the A-side, Minilogue remix the danceable "Uncle Limps," reconstructing it with a more club-friendly tech-house style that becomes an ambient tune during the latter half. Jan Jelinek's remix on the B-side creates an even more atmospheric version of an ambient track. This is simply beautiful music.

This is the debut collaborative release from IMPS, a collaboration between Malmö's Minilogue and two jazz musicians from Melbourne, Australia. The songs were recorded during a two-week long improvisation/jam session where everything was recorded live (with some post-production) in an attempt to capture the feeling of real-time, actively performed acoustic instruments mixed with electronic craziness (also captured live). The result is a display of funk-fuelled jazz that shows how much can be done with open minds and shitloads of toys in a big studio. Sebastian Mullaert and Marcus Henriksson came from opposing backgrounds. Sebastian was trained as a classical musician playing the organ, piano and the violin, while Marcus lived on a diet of Kraftwerk and Front 242. They met at a party and decided to combine Sebastian's musician's perspective with Marcus' DJ skills from the Swedish scene. After achieving some success as Son Kite and Trimatic, Marcus and Sebastian are now Minilogue -- an animalistic music concept without the boundaries of genres. Through the years, their music has expanded and moved through a variety of sounds, appealing across the board of electronic music. They make music that is built for peak-time dancefloors as well as for laid-back listening, producing a sound that is industrial, vivid and continually provocative. IMPS are: Ian Chaplin (soprano sax, Rhodes, drums & percussion); Philip Rex (double bass, electric bass, guitar, drum machines); Sebastian Mullaert (viola, Moog, Voyager, Rhodes, synths, tape delay, tweak master, computer programming & samplers, post production); Marcus Henriksson (drum machine, computer programming & samplers, post production).
