This is the second full-length release from Chelonis R. Jones on Systematic. Chelonis R. Jones is an American artist of the old school tradition -- leaving NYC for Europe, in order to pursue a career in the world of the arts. Armed with his paintbrushes, unpublished manuscripts, songs and poems, he decided to commit himself fully to the vitriolic world of the artist. Working as a songwriter and vocalist in more than 20 rock/pop groups, luring controversial praise from top magazines, in 2001 he was signed to Get Physical Music. His first collaboration with M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade started the ball rolling, and the deep house anthem "I Don't Know?" followed, which topped all playlists and the Belgian dance charts twice, and put the artist on the map, with thousands of broken hearts to respond and relate. 2005 ignited the self-produced, controversial, lo-fi masterpiece Dislocated Genius (GPM 005CD), until in 2008, he worked with giants of electronic music such as Röyksopp, Corrugated Tunnel, Booka Shade, Hell, Marc Romboy and many more. 2008 introduced his 4gottenfloor project (with Alex Dandi) and 2009 was the year of a label change to Systematic Recordings, and the CD release of the highly-acclaimed dark diamond Chatterton (SYST 008CD). After endless live shows, featuring the likes of Spektre, Oliver Huntemann and Booka Shade and Röyksopp, 2012 is to be the time for his second album on Systematic Recordings, entitled The Prison Buffet. Often imitated, never duplicated -- adjust the spotlight and open the curtains for Chelonis R. Jones.

Originally released in 2005. Chelonis R. Jones was born in New York, but has lived in Europe for the past decade, making his mark as a songwriter, painter and poet. This is his first debut full-length for the Get Physical label. On Dislocated Genius, Jones explores the field of dark, provocative dance music. Highlights include "Blackface," which explores the myth of the womanizing stud cliché of Rn'B and disco music with deep sub bass and twisted FX that growl ever stronger under Jones' riling words and audience applause. The strange and infectious "Middle Finger Music" comes on strong with psychotic noise before pulling back to a controlled beat bristling with glitches and evolving into a strong rumbling bassline and uplifting melody. Within the tuneful 4/4 of "Vultures" are understated beats, sweeping FX and undulating melodies. Stand-out track "Mythologies" is ripe with textured soundscapes, forceful beats and unfussy production. "Deer In The Headlights" is arresting from the opening chords -- deep sub-bass and synth mash with grumbling soundbeds, sci-fi clicks and spacey synths, which underpin Chelonis' haunting vocals. Hugely driven to create, his unique sound and powerful voice is unmistakeable in a rapidly homogenized world.

2005 release. The first single taken from Chelonis R. Jones' debut album Dislocated Genius. On "Le Bateau Ivre," rumbling sub bass, grumbling soundbeds, sci-fi clicks and spacey synths underpin Chelonis' pop-catchy haunting vocal. Booka Shade's remix of "Middle Finger Music" comes on strong with psychotic noise before pulling back to a controlled beat bristling with glitches and evolving into a strong rumbling bassline. Remixes by The Fairy (Tiga & Jesper Dahlbäck) and Samin & Michal .

"'The Cockpit is my personal favorite song on the Chelonis album and it has taken me sleepless nights (and days) to find the 'right' remixers. A special thanks to Ekkohaus who delivered two different mixes and spent a lot of energy and passion on these productions. And also 'merci' to Steve Rachmad and Paul Woolford, guys who created passionate tech house." --Chelonis R. Jones

In honor of his Chatterton full-length, Chelonis R. Jones donates his next manic single called Pompadour. And again, the remixes are as crazy as he is: 8 Bit shooting star Gorge, Mothership's Catz N'Dogz, plus Belgium's Music Man Dimitri Andreas have contributed their outstanding tones on plastic.

An American artist left New York to land upon Europe's doorstep in order to pursue a career in the world of art. His first release One & One, a collaboration with M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade, started the ball rolling in 2002. After countless puzzled-over releases, dramas and mountain climbing, 2009 seems to be the moment for the long player entitled Chatterton and the first single, "Rehabilitation." Get ready, Dachshund and Markus Fix remix the illustrious Chelonis R. Jones.

This is the second full-length release from Chelonis R. Jones. The American artist left his home of New York for the shores of Europe in order to pursue a blossoming career in the world of arts. Working as a songwriter and playing vocalist in more than 20 rock/pop groups and pulling a handful of small art shows for his paintings were hardly usual. Struggles were many, penury, usual and homelessness -- obvious. Then in 2001, he was introduced and signed to Get Physical Music. His first 2002 12" release One & One, a collaboration with M.A.N.D.Y. and Booka Shade, started the ball rolling. 2003 followed with another 12" release, I Don't Know, which topped the Belgium Dance Charts twice and put the artist on the map, with thousands of broken hearts to respond and relate. Both singles became unforgettable house classics. 2005 saw the ignition of the self-produced, controversial, lo-fi masterpiece Dislocated Genius, and since 2008, he has worked with many giants of electronic music, from Röyksopp to Oliver Huntemann and from Corrugated Tunnel to Marc Romboy and many more. Chatterton is guaranteed to confound more minds than even Dislocated Genius. This is weird, compelling stuff: an unnerving mix of Chicago/Detroit house, R&B crooning, and pure, grinding, tension-filled German beat that rips your heart out. 2009 is Chatterton's year.

Originally released 11/26/2003, 2nd release on GPM for Jones. "Like the first release (GPM 004 'One & One'/'Blackout!'), the follow-up: 'I Don't Know?' / 'The Rush' follows the dramatic switch from A-side to B-side (A-side: poppier, B-side: freakier). The melodramatic flush of 'I Don't Know?' kicks directly in the crotch of the typical club-lyric tracks that we are all too willing to ignore; this track calls for our undivided attention...at the same time, our feet never misses a beat! 'The Rush' is the A-side's sinister sibling; the one we are all terrified of, but we're glued to every detail with psychopathic fascination...The 'Sex with the machines mix' is just that, while the 'Raw dub mix' nearly numbs the listener / dancer with its bare understatement."
