As a producer whose first productions were drum and bass records, Kieran Lomax aka Komon has never lacked in energy as he's evolved with releases on Aus, Hype LTD, and Apple Pips, remaining UK-centric with a bold, sturdy quality. His Splice EP brings together three richly textured productions rife with scuttling drums and glowing tones. "Yeah" kicks things off with field recordings and other-worldly FX ducking under a sharp, forthright kick. "Lo Output" then rolls out loose-limbed drums and finger clicks alongside warped and panned atmospherics before the distinctly eyes-down pads of "Splice Boundary" beautifully interweave.

Bristol-based Kieren Lomax (aka Komon) returns to Will Saul's respected imprint with Walk the Walk. As a former member of drum and bass collective Ice Minus, Komon's love for the roots of bass music are clearly recognizable in the thunderous bass lines present on "Walk the Walk/Poly Sum." The notable difference from his previous work is that here they go hand-in-hand with an overt 4x4 sensibility.
