"Two guys have found themselves. Yes, it's true: Kontrast are Justus Köhncke and Dirk Leyers. You think that the name is program. But that's not the case. 'Stammtisch der Verzweiflung' means 'crackerbarrel of desperation.' The promising title of that record describes rather the new and common preference for beats that are well below 120 bpm. The (re-)discovery of the new slowness so to say. The groove slides sexily, lasciviously, almost filthy and at knee-height through the disco-fog. Attention, slip hazard. Shift down and bounce. Of course on the B-side there are two wangers at 'normal' speed, but for the guys Köhncke and Leyers they came out very dark, almost morbid. It's maybe because they were produced in Berlin. It's going off!"
