ACRE 051EP

After blazing trails with his debut album Exits (ACRE 005CD/LP) and wowing the skeptical chat rooms with his all-hardware Boiler Room blow out, the North Country bit-smasher returns. The IIVA EP is a mini-album of experiments, re-animations and rebirths. Unlike its big brother Exits, IIVA sets an immediate agenda, drums burst through fizzing tape hiss and field recorded "found sounds" are given urgency and purpose. Along with an army of hooded mystery collaborators, Pan's NHK even joins the fray with a radiophonic technoid re-rub of "IIVA." All action.

Shrouded in mystery, Loops Haunt's musical outpourings are the stuff of urban folklore. A strange alchemy of rugged RZA-esque drums lay a contrasting bed for his spectral outboard sound bombardment. In contradiction with prior experiments, Zenith has a strong and muscular loop-based drum aesthetic running throughout, from the NYC leanings of "mun Rhul" to the straight-up Amen-bothering hardcore of the title-track, Haunt has never sounded more relevant on a soundsystem.
