"Crocodile Promises, the all-new album from legendary post-punk/goth rock act The March Violets builds upon the band's 40-year legacy. Founding members Rosie Garland and Tom Ashton are now joined by bassist Mat Thorpe. Crocodile Promises finds the March Violets in top form, creating a reinvigorated take on its trademark boundary-shredding goth-tinged post punk."

"The March Violets came from Leeds in the early '80s, label-mates of Sisters of Mercy. Constantly at the heights of the UK indie singles charts, the singles were the base for successful compilations in the UK and USA. Signing to a major, they had two songs featured in a John Hughes' movie -- but split up before an album was completed. Twenty-five years later they reconvened, making tours of the UK and USA. A single and video of 'Dandelion King' was issued in 2011. Unfinished business included an album, and Made Glorious was given a release in 2013 via an over-subscribed Pledge Music campaign. Fans got access to a very limited CD and download, but sadly events intervened to stymie the reunion and planned wider and vinyl release, much to the disappointment of their fans. Here at last is the long-awaited 'difficult first album' from The March Violets!"

"Yellow vinyl -- twenty-three tracks recorded for John Peel and other BBC programs over six separate sessions -- including nine unreleased songs. The March Violets came out of Leeds in the early 80's, initially as label-mates mates of Sisters of Mercy. Releasing six singles, they were a constant presence at the heights of the UK indie charts. They never got around to recording an album - their only long-players, both in the UK and USA, were singles compilations. Eventually they signed to a major and were groomed for a USA breakthrough, but found they were asked to make too many compromises. Thankfully, their career was well-documented by the BBC recording six sessions -- three for John Peel, and one each with Kid Jensen, Janice Long and Richard Skinner. The sessions chronicle their development from 1982 to 1986 with lead singers Simon Denbigh, Rosie Garland and Cleo Murray, backed by bassist Lawrence Elliot and guitarist Tom Ashton. It includes nine unreleased songs and alternate versions of their indie hits in a total of 23 tracks. Here is the unheard history of The March Violets."

"The Complete Singles 1982-85 & More, on limited purple vinyl gatefold double-LP. Includes indie chart-toppers 'Snake Dance', 'Deep' and 'Walk Into The Sun' 7" versions. Twenty-two tracks -- all their '80s repertoire plus three highlights from this century. From Leeds, friends and label-mates of Sisters of Mercy, they issued six singles and a compilation. The March Violets came out of Leeds in the early '80s. Releasing six singles, they were a constant presence in the UK indie charts, hitting the top two spots with 'Snake Dance', 'Deep' and number one with 'Walk Into The Sun'. They never got around to recording an album -- their only '80s long-players, Natural History in the UK and Electric Shades in the USA, were compilations. Eventually they signed to a major label and were groomed for a USA breakthrough, performing in the 1987 Some Kind of Wonderful movie. However, they were asked to make too many compromises and eventually split up. Here is all their 1980s independent catalogue compiled in the original versions, together with three tracks from this century. It chronicles their development with lead singers Simon Denbigh, Rosie Garland and Cleo Murray and backed by bassist Lawrence Elliot and guitarist Tom Ashton."

"A 5CD boxset. Though the band never recorded an album in the '80s, an abundance of material has been discovered. In addition to CDs of singles and extended versions, the box includes six BBC sessions and two whole discs of unreleased demos -- one each from the Rosie and Cleo era. Rosie Garland recounts the band's story in an illustrated 44-page booklet."
