CADENZA 066EP

For Swiss-based producer Mendo, house music has no boundaries when it comes to exposing tones, ambience and expressions. Mendo leads us directly and eagerly to the dancefloor with a mature and classy edge, producing tracks with irresistibly deep bass lines and an upbeat character. "Inocencia" opens with crisp slices of sound, leading us into spellbinding metal drums and a round sensual bass line. Luciano's always-amazing Cadenza label strikes again.

Mendo combines old-school attitude and new-school finesse with two more tracks sure to dominate dancefloors. "Aventuras" is pushed ahead by a slippery, shaker-heavy percussive groove and a booming, sub-bass throb. Celebratory, call-and-response cheers draw the dancers together, and African vocal loops increase the intensity level. With rat-a-tat snare fills, tricky blasts of white noise and reverb, the track is one long, extended build-up. DJs beware: anything you play next is bound to sound anticlimactic.

Mendo's Remember EP has been highly anticipated by many DJs. Luciano plays it live, and it always receives mad reactions from crowds. Mendo was first approached by producer George Morel in the late '90s, and signed a few releases on Groove On. "Everybody I Got Him" was previously released in 2000, and is now in a new mix, and there's another club burner on the flip. Supported by the Martinez Brothers, Luciano, Reboot, Loco Dice, Tobi Neumann, and others.
