LLR 1012EP

Ian O'Donovan presents the third release on Loveland Recordings after the label's return in 2015. The Irish producer was catapulted to Loveland's attention when Adam Beyer closed the 2014 Loveland Festival with O'Donovan's "Vortex," which opens this EP before "Shimmer" presents O'Donovan's warmer Detroit-influenced side. Two intense techno tracks, "In the Pale Moonlight" and "Undercurrent," are closer to the sound of O'Donovan's contribution to Drumcode's 2015 A-Sides Vol. 3 compilation, "The Border."

Ireland's Ian O'Donovan has already received massive support from Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, John Digweed, and Darko Esser. "En Verano" is a true, Detroit-influenced techno anthem at its best. Ian builds the two mixes of the track, both carefully arranged and orchestrated. In the house-y "Dawn Mix," the main piano melody is introduced with perfect timing in a stunning breakdown, with layered piano themes and extra melodies in different harmonies and structures. A truly amazing piece of work.
