A live musical performance to Derek Jarman's In The Shadow of the Sun. Recorded live at Cafe OTO, London, England on May 23, 2017. Derek Jarman's In The Shadow of the Sun forms part of a series of films, shot and edited on S8mm, grouped under the collective title The Art of Mirrors. In The Shadow of the Sun is the longest of these running at 54 minutes. Filming took place between 1972-74 and the film was completed in 1974. When Derek showed the film, he would play Verdi's requiem as an accompaniment. In 1980 the FDK in Berlin agreed to make a 16mm blow up of the S8mm film to be shown at the Berlinale forum. The footage was blown-up to 16mm by John Hall of Colour Technique. Derek felt that the new version should have a new accompaniment and, with this in mind, approached Throbbing Gristle to provide the music. In May 23, 2017, Psychic TV performed two live soundtracks to In The Shadow of the Sun at Cafe OTO in London. The recordings on this LP were made that night. For the realization of this project Psychic TV were: Genesis Breyer P-Orridge - violin; Edley ODowd - drums and percussion; Alice Genese - flute; Jeff Berner - guitar; John Weingarten - keyboards. Live mixing by Matski; Album produced by Edley ODowd.

Born in 1981 from industrial music progenitors Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV is fronted by Throbbing Gristle cofounder, anti-hero, artist, and pandrogyne Genesis Breyer P-Orridge. Psychic TV is particularly known for its intense and visceral live performances and for a creative lineage that includes such cultural luminaries as William S. Burroughs, Derek Jarman, and Timothy Leary, among others. In 2003, New York-based artist and musician Edley ODowd gently persuaded Genesis to rekindle their desire to perform and create music as Psychic TV. The result has been a run of concerts and releases as Psychic TV and PTV3, many recordings of which were made available digitally though Dais Records on January 22, 2016 -- many for the first time ever in a digital format outside of a 2014 self-released flash drive. To commemorate the release of this catalogue, the band has put together Fishscales Falling: A Smorgasbord ov Delights, a compilation of live recordings, demos, outtakes, and other material from 2003 through 2016. Originally released as an LP for Record Store Day 2016. Includes a CD-only bonus track.

Angry Love Productions proudly announces the release of Alienist by Psychic TV. Alienist is the follow-up to 2014's highly acclaimed Snakes (OTTT 030LP) which in part, explored Genesis Breyer P-Orridge's foray into African Voudoun culture. Alienist in part explores drummer and Psychic TV's co-producer Edley ODowd's fascination of Psychic TV's longtime reinterpretation of contemporary rock classics. This time tackling "Jump Into The Fire" by the late Harry Nilsson as well as Genesis' teenage favorite "How Does It Feel To Feel" by '60s British psychedelic rockers The Creation. Original tracks include the haunting yet emotional "Looking For You" - an epic journey in which Genesis lets Lucifer himself know that his "time is over". A delightful fusion of dance grooves harking back to Psychic TV's acid house days and the band's current love of heavy psychedelic rock.
