"Developments in the field of dubstep/grime have seen the loosely termed genre splinter into a number of different factions over the last few years. Soaking up influences from the UK breaks scene, drum and bass, early '90s hardcore (before they started playing tracks on 45 that were meant to be at 33) and ever present in UK dance music - a healthy lungful of sound system culture. While labels like hyperdub and DMZ have been more influenced by the d'n'b and sound system aspects, the triumvirate of labels Destructive, Pitch Black and Storming continue the tradition of UK hardcore, sounds and basslines designed and constructed for cavernous warehouse spaces, breakbeats forged with the deadly intent to twist bodies into new shapes. From the opener, Search & Destroy's mammoth 'Espionage' to Vex'd's 'Lion VIP' the dubs rage on from Dubchild killer 'Psychopath,' through bombs from Toastyboy, Mark One, Distance, Darqwan, Slaughter Mob and a shitload more. All at a bargain price leaving more coin in your pocket to buy a fresh pair of Reebok classics. Killer."
