The Full Pupp label inaugurates its Slagerparade imprint, dedicated to sought-after or neglected classics of Norwegian heritage, with a 2015 remaster of Skatebård's "Data Italia," which originally appeared on the B-side of Skatebård's 2006 Flashes in the Night EP on Digitalo Enterprises. "Data Italia" is a true gem, and you really need to listen to believe how good it is. As one Discogs user wrote regarding Flashes in the Night, "I really dig the b side. Data Italia is enchanting Italo disco." This remastered edition also includes remixes by Sagtann and Prins Thomas. Mastered at Schnittstelle, Berlin.

LUNA 010EP

This is Skatebård's first EP for Luna Flicks, and a salute to the old sounds of Chicago. "Starwatcher II" clocks in at 112 bpm with dreamy synths and claps. Continuing the ode to the Windy City, there's also "Naar Det Rykker I Ringen." Plastique de Rêve delivers a remix of "Way Out" that is a powerful, high-speed train full of hi-nrg techno. H.R. Genova finishes things off with a future-past Italo stomp version for those wee hours.

Skatebård's Skateboarding Was A Crime (In 1989) was released on Tellektro in 2002, and the key track on that album was "Sgnelkab," which was played and loved to death by DJs like Sven Väth, Michael Mayer and Pascal FEOS. It instantly became a classic and always remained a secret weapon. "Sgnelkab" is finally available on a full vinyl side, remastered and remixed by Mental Overdrive, who turned the track into an insanely hot disco rave remix. Artwork by another Scandinavian legend: Sähkö's Tommi Grönlund.

This is the second full-length release by Norway's Baard Lødemel aka Skatebård, the follow-up to 2006's highly-rated Midnight Magic. Norway's dance music scene is no secret to the world -- from the Balearic nu-disco bliss proved by Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas, the bubble-gum Italo-pop of Annie to hit-makers Röyksopp, there's something about those long winter nights that's brought forth a fury of creativity over the years -- much of it spurred by the legendary Tellé record label. It was here that Bergen's Skatebård emerged as a force to be reckoned with, thanks to his 2002 debut Skateboarding Was A Crime (in 1989) -- a record that rocked the underground with its unique fusion of Italo-disco and house. Since then, he's gone on to release a steady stream of singles on Keys Of Life, Sex Tags Mania, Radius Records, Supersoul Recordings and of course his own imprint Digitalo Enterprises. Midnight Magic introduced Skatebård to a larger audience, thanks to the massive press/radio support it spewed -- well due it was, with its emotional grace and pop sensibilities which brought the listener to refreshing new angles on the then quite dormant state of Italo-disco and house music. The last two years have brought on a whole new wave of interest in the music Skatebård has played a crucial role in re-establishing. This stunning follow-up is the best music he's ever produced. Starting off with the sleeper classic (previously released on Radius) "Vuelo," Skatebård settles in with an emotive dance crooner that sways the listener into a synthetic landscape -- optimal for where we're all heading. From the darkish electro-fied "Kosmos," the classic '90s house-infected house-breaker "React To The Rhythm" and the Italo stormer "Into The Crypt Of Rays," once again, Skatebård demonstrates his diversity as a producer and outlines new horizons for the best in timeless classic house and electro. Also includes a hidden bonus track featuring guest vocals by Annie.

"If I'm ever going on a journey to a distant galaxy, this would make for a good soundtrack as I slowmo through space. I guess some people would associate this with the so-called Norwegian space-disco scene, too." --Erik Sterb

Norway's nu-disco space-racer, Skatebård returns after catapulting into the DJ crates of tomorrow with his 2nd single for his own imprint Digitalo Enterprises following a slew of media praise for the 2006 full-length, Midnight Magic. Now we come to Love Attack -- a firm favorite song from the album which gets a makeover thanks to the addition of vocals from Annie and A Boy Named Sue. The outcome is a post-nu wave anthem! "Gamle Furutraer" is a well-paced crooner that flows with hollowed synth pleasures. "Disco Nonstop" is a slow-mo space-disco lullaby that would make Lindstrøm proud.

This is Skatebård's (aka Baard Lødemel; in English, it's "Skateboard") first full length, released on his own, freshly-launched imprint, Digitalo Enterprises -- with marketing and distribution support from his friends at Kompakt. Skatebård is another fascinating member of the remarkable Bergen, Norwegian music scene: the same magical home of Sondre Lerche, Kings Of Convenience, Röyksopp and Annie. This offbeat lad began his adventure in music upon the release of his 2002 debut Skateboarding Was A Crime (in 1989) on the Tellektro imprint. Conjuring a blend of retro-electro, techno, and even instrumental hip-hop, Skatebård made a massive mark on the dance community, and also as a member of the Norwegian hip-hop act Side Brok. He has gone on to release a steady string of treasured releases on Keys Of Life/Sähkö and the cult label Sex Tags Mania. On Midnight Magic, Skatebård lifts his middle finger to the standard dance music formula and creates one of this year's most engaging and utterly satisfying full lengths. Midnight Magic indiscriminately moves genre to genre from each song in the most comforting of ways. Craftily-created haunting synths and ethereal melodies harken to the romance of '80s pop, however Skatebård conjures a musical matrimony of the last 30 years of electronic music history and makes songs that are shaped for our time -- right NOW.

The first single Flashes In the Night highlights two tracks from the full-length Midnight Magic, plus features two tracks exclusive to this 12". Skatebärd's unique approach to Italo-electro-disco is demonstrated full-force with the title track. "Electro Madness" takes a more classic approach to the nu-wave electro dancefloor. "Data Italia" is one of the sweeter gems you'll find on the full-length and on vinyl and will make fans of Booka Shade's recent offerings scream in ecstasy. "Circuitry Impulse Overload" brings Skatebärd's synth-scapes to the dancefloors of today, held above with a roaring bassline that heralds what everyone is loving from Detroit currently. Stay tuned for more from this extremely talented, loveable producer.
