Matthew Styles presents Metro EP. "I've never worked on a sequential set of songs that came out on the same record," Matthew commented on this 12". Metro EP has a certain timelessness. "Metro" is an elated seven-minute, trippy, meandering analog synth exploration in house and cosmic disco. "Wave 6" has a simple yet beguiling melody: six notes dancing completely beat-less in 5/4 time, meandering repetitively and escalating towards a blissful climax. "Border" is a solid addition to the long history of dub techno - smooth, steady, super laidback, but also offering many colorful melodic elements.

Matthew Styles' debut for Running Back is his first solo release in a long while and ticks all the niceness boxes: straight-up house with "Don't Call Me Again" that works itself up into a frenzy, the rough-and-ready "Scale" performance without a ruffle, "Polee" and its irresistible melody and last but not least, the percussive and bass-heavy lunacy of "Galaxy 21."
