Double-LP version. 180 gram vinyl, white vinyl with black splatters; Gatefold sleeve. Damage Control combines both EPs released by The Vacant Lots on Anton Newcombe's label A Recordings: Berlin EP (AUK 124EP, 2016) and Exit EP (AUK 131LP, 2019). All tracks were produced and recorded by Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre) at Anton's Cobra Studio in Berlin. Jared Artaud of The Vacant Lots says, "working with someone who made you want to make records is fucking inspiring. You not only learn a lot working with Anton in the studio -- you become a better artist in the process. Through this collaboration we were able to distill ideas on the spot and turn fragments into songs. Anton pushes you further to get the best results and that really drives the process of making records." The Vacant Lots have recently released their critically acclaimed third album Interzone (2020) on Fuzz Club and have previously released singles with Mexican Summer and Reverberation Appreciation Society. The duo has collaborated on their debut album Departure (SCR 080CD, 2014) with Spacemen 3's Sonic Boom, and their second album Endless Night (2017) with Alan Vega. The group has toured with Suicide, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Growlers, Dean Wareham, The Dandy Warhols, and Spectrum.

Exit EP is the second release by The Vacant Lots on Anton Newcombe's label A Recordings. Recorded in Berlin in 2017 over three days in between tours with The Dandy Warhols and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Anton Newcombe played bass, synths, guitars, and backing vocals on previous single "Bells", as well as operated the desk. Jared Artaud of the band goes into the recording process: "About a week or so before we left for tour I just invited Anton and his wife out to dinner, since we were gonna have a few days off in Berlin. He said 'f*ck that? Let's make a record? come ready with your ideas.' And that was how we made Berlin EP. I like working with Anton in the studio because through this collaboration we're able to distill ideas on the spot and turn fragments into songs. Anton pushes you further to get the best results and that really drives the process of making records. With Anton you don't get more than one or two takes to record something. You're executing your ideas with speed and intensity then moving on to the next idea. There is no time to overthink when you're constantly creating." 180 gram, white vinyl.
The Vacant Lots are an American psych-electronic duo comprised of Jared Artaud and Brian MacFadyen. The key element of The Vacant Lots' minimalist, primitive rock and roll songs is their boundless energy, which tears up the psych template with a genuine punk spirit. The notion of duality is also a recurring theme in the band's minimal means maximum effect aesthetic, whether in their lyrics or fiercely monochromatic artwork. The group has collaborated with underground music legends including; Sonic Boom, who mixed their debut album Departure (2014), Alan Vega of Suicide (whose vocals are featured on the band's second album Endless Night (2017) and who they've done a split 10" with), and Anton Newcombe who has recorded and produced two EPs at his Cobra Studio in Berlin with the band.

"The Vacant Lots' minimalist, primitive rock'n'roll tears up the psych template with a genuine punk spirit and a 'minimal means maximum effect' aesthetic. The duo explores the themes of duality, whether in the band's fiercely monochrome artwork or their lyrics, which deal with life and death, love & loss & the human condition. Poetic, but with a streetwise swagger; psych, but with a punk attitude."

The American duo The Vacant Lots release Berlin EP on A Recordings, recorded in Anton Newcombe's studio in Berlin. Anton had the band support The Brian Jonestown Massacre in 2014 and was so impressed with their sound, that he offered to produce and remix this EP (also helping out on bass, guitar and synths too.) Berlin EP takes the monochrome sound of the Vacant Lots and adds a layer of Berlin chill: "Promise Me" features lyrics from Jeffery Lee Pierce, "Verschwinden" features the disconnected vocals of Astrid Carter. The shoe-gazing "Land" comes before the throbbing beats of "Funeral Rites".

2014 release. Departure, by the Burlington, VT, duo of Jared Artaud and Brian MacFadyen, follows acclaimed singles on Mexican Summer and The Reverberation Appreciation Society as well as an appearance on the 2013 Psych For Sore Eyes EP, recognized as a landmark in the burgeoning new psychedelic movement. Departure was mixed and mastered by Spacemen 3 legend Sonic Boom at his studio in Rugby, England (his previous credits include Panda Bear, Peaking Lights, MGMT, and Wooden Shjips). The key element of the almost primitive rock 'n' roll songs on Departure is their boundless energy, which tears up the psychedelic rock template with a genuine punk spirit. Combine that with the use of synths and drum machines, and it's not surprising that the band has won over Suicide's Alan Vega, with whom they collaborated in 2015. Another famous friend is former Galaxie 500 and Luna frontman Dean Wareham, who plays guitar on "Tomorrow."
