Reissue, originally released in 1963. Born in 1923 in Clarksdale, Mississippi, Wade Walton, besides working as barber, was a strong blues guitarist and harp player who toured with minstrel shows in his teens and formed the Kings of Rhythms with Ike Turner in the '40s. Recorded by Rudy Van Gelder in 1962 and originally released by Bluesville Records, Shake 'Em On Down was his biggest album, a great piece of downhome blues which earned him international attention. People said that no trip to Clarksdale would be complete without a trip to Wade's Barber Shop (Delta Boogie).
