Susan Lawly announces the fifth in this special series of Whitehouse Legacy reissue CDs, this time in the form of 1981's incredibly bleak and chilling Buchenwald, an album demonstrating a raw, haunting electricity following the direct harshness of Dedicated To Peter Kurten (1996). As with the entire Whitehouse Legacy series to date, CD features a beautiful 12pp booklet packed with photos, info, plus the original LP insert and artwork.

Special 40th anniversary legacy CD edition of Whitehouse's legendary 1981 LP Dedicated To Peter Kurten. Originally released on fluorescent green vinyl, now a highly sought-after collector's item. Even more so than with the earlier Erector, its transgressive themes and wild electronic harshness became a critical defining influence on, indeed often template for, the noise and power electronics genres of the mid/late '80s and long beyond. This brand new Susan Lawly legacy reissue CD features a beautiful 12pp booklet packed with photos, information, plus the original LP inserts and artwork.

Dirter presents the first appearance on vinyl since 1990 of Whitehouse's Steve Albini-produced classic Thank Your Lucky Stars LP, this time around as a luxuriously expanded double LP set. The original LP was recorded in September 1988 at Albini's Chicago studio and then issued on Susan Lawly as a 4 track 12″ vinyl release. A special CD edition followed in 1997 on CD with extra tracks from other sessions in Chicago recorded around that time. This limited double vinyl edition features all that material in addition to the legendary original 13:36 version of "My Cock's On Fire" recorded at IPS, London in 1984. The set is limited to just 500 copies.

First vinyl release of the classic Whitehouse album Halogen, originally released as a CD on the Susan Lawly label in 1994. Tracks are: "Vulgar" (William Bennett), "Lightning Struck My Dick" (William Bennett/Jim Goodall/Peter Sotos), "Movement 1994" (William Bennett), "Dictator" (William Bennett), "Halogen" (William Bennett/Peter Sotos), and "The Way It Will Be" (William Bennett). Recorded at Electrical Audio in Chicago by Steve Albini and William Bennett, December 1993; remastered and cut by Noel Summerville. Artwork by Trevor Brown. Audiophile 180-gram vinyl in stunning gloss-laminated sleeve. "[Part of] Whitehouse's most idiosyncratic, and therefore most compelling phase in their 26-plus years of activity... with probably their most musical and understated (in relative terms, of course) works... Once again Bennett is assisted by Peter Sotos lyrically, resulting in some of the more complex vocal themes up to that point, while the synths are just awash in a sort of gauzy reverb that smooths out the cleaner sound, likely due to the Steve Albini production. It is still by no means peaceful, but has a more introspective feel compared to their other work. The almost pleasant synth sounds from Never Forget Death are but gone, replaced by unique analog textures that would reappear splendidly on Quality Time." --Brainwashed

William Bennett is one of the great pioneers of noise and industrial music. His influential project Whitehouse has become a worldwide reference. The music on this CD and the arrangements by Reinhold Friedl were worked out in close collaboration with William Bennett and the Zeitkratzer musicians. The compositions are short, very clear, and have an unbelievable impact, with precisely-defined harsh sounds. This music is an adventurous journey into the amplified acoustic noise of musical instruments. This project would not have been possible without the experience of Zeitkratzer in noise and sound music; for example, in their collaborations with Merzbow, Lou Reed, Zbigniew Karkowski or Keiji Haino. This CD is one of the most concentrated and cleanly-presented noise works Zeitkratzer has ever offered. All music recorded at Festival Les Musiques GMEM Marseille, France, May 14, 2009. Musicians include: Frank Gratkowski (clarinets), Matt Davis (trumpet), Hilary Jeffery (trombone), Reinhold Friedl (piano), Rhodri Davies (harp), Maurice De Martin (drums, percussion), Burkhard Schlothauer (violin), Anton Lukoszevieze (violoncello), Ulrich Phillipp (double bass), Ralf Meinz (sound).
