"Originally hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, Jon Dacey a.k.a. Dubious began playing in scuzzy lo-fi noise punk bands at age seventeen. An obsession with 4-track cassette recording spawning his initial productions. Now residing in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Dubious' interests in crazed dance music fuel his DJ sets and productions alike. Playing everything from drums, guitar, bass and keys, his take on left field disco house production is distinctly his own. Dubious's musical appetites bounce from wild cosmic rock to blazing acid house, he has few boundaries, yet he remains focused on the funk first and foremost.In addition to his debut on Bear Funk Gold he has also produced for Deep Freeze, Truffle, Loop: Recordings and on Prize (the label he founded).
