Following Dave Clarke's techno stomp on 2007's I Love Techno mix, here we find an altogether different take on the world of electronics as Berlin's wunderkind, Boys Noize, gives us a raucous dancefloor assault. From the scything buzz of tracks like Mr. Oizo's "Positif" to Soundhack's cut-up funk on "Devils Run" and Joey Beltram's taut, pulverizing classic "Game Form," Boys Noize delivers just what his name suggests. Boys Noize is the moniker of German electro-tech producer and DJ, Alexander Ridha and is also the name of Ridha's label, Boysnoize Records, which he set up in 2005. Born and raised in Hamburg but now residing in Berlin, he has released records on Kitsune, Tiga's Turbo Records and on DJ Hell's Gigolo imprint. He has also remixed tracks for Snoop Dogg, Depeche Mode, Feist, Bloc Party, Justice, Gonzales and many more. Following on from his Boys Noize label compilation BNR Vol.1, Mr. Ridha hits us from all angles of the techno sphere. From superb cut-up rave from MMM and Errorsmith to Alter Ego's teutonic onslaught, DMX Krew's vocodered electro, Steve Rachmad's deep grooves and the energetic fun(k) of Diplo's remix of Bingo Player's "Get Up," Boys Noize is bringing back techno's early "maximal" rave blast. And for that, Mr. Ridha, we salute you! Other artists include: Proxy, I-Robots, Jan Driver, ZZT, Poni Hoax, Popof, D.I.M., Les Petits Pilous, Mixhell, Brodinski, DJ Koze, Patrice Bäumel, Len Faki, The Subs, Yuksek, Zeus and Para One.
